Promising to be cinematic spectacle of its kind, the film managed to woo with its action and edge-of-the-seat thrills along with a unique storyline that resonated with audiences not only in Karnataka but across the country. With the film also receiving recognition at the National Film Awards, it has now turned two.

Celebrating this special occasion, Hombale Films took to social media to commemorate the moment and penned a note about why Kantara is special. “A truly special film that remains close to our hearts. Our deepest gratitude goes out to the amazing audience who transformed it into a divine phenomenon. With the prestigious National Award as a crowning glory, the magic transcends time and borders. The celebrations still echo across the nation as awards and accolades continue to pour in.”

For the unversed, Hombale Films secured a magnificent win as Rishab Shetty won the National Award for Best Actor, and the film was also honored with the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 70th National Film Awards for 2022.

Moreover, followed by the whopping box office numbers, the makers have also announced the second installment of the film with the prequel, titled Kantara: Chapter 1. Referring to the same in their note, they added, “We are excited to embark on the next chapter of this epic tale, bringing #KantaraChapter1 to you all very soon.”

Starring Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 is expected to take you deeper into the world of the folklore. The actor-filmmaker had earlier revealed that he has already kicked off work on the project and it has been learnt that the film will be shot extensively in Karnataka.
