15 Years of Wake Up Sid: Konkona Sen Sharma opens on working with Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid; says, “We had a wonderful experience”

Konkona Sen Sharma reflects on Wake Up Sid's 15th anniversary, recalling her enjoyable experience working with Ranbir Kapoor.

Konkona Sen Sharma, Bollywood actress and filmmaker, marked her significant role in Wake Up Sid along with Ranbir Kapoor, is celebrating 15 years of the film.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Konkona Sen shared her experience working with Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid. She said, “Well, that was a long time ago and we had a wonderful experience. It was the first time I worked with Ranbir Kapoor and, he was not such a big star then, he had just done Sawariya. And he was a very young actor who's very invested in even very knowledgeable in terms of behind the scenes, information and all of that. I worked with Anil Mehta for the first time who was the cinematographer of the film. Later, I acted in a film that he directed. So it was really wonderful meeting of minds.”

Explaing about the factors that are most important to her when selecting a project. She stated, “I like to go with my gut instinct. First of all, I like to read the script and see if the script can hold my attention. And, if the script is something which appeals to me, how the character is written, what kind of a character it is, is it believable? am I engaging emotionally with the character, or I like to meet the director to, establish a rappor to see how well I am able to communicate with the director because they are really the your anchor, and your captain, they are the most important person who has ended request of the whole film in their head, you know? These are the elements I consider.”

“I like to work in all kinds of films I've worked in largely Hindi, but also Bengali and some English turns, I've also directed films, I like to be involved in a creative medium. So I have been involved with writing with direction. You know, our stories are even produced, along with the community gone. So I have to see that I enjoy creative endeavor. I like working with people. I like collaborating with other talents. That what I look for the most when I am approaching a project,” she added.

On the work front, Konkona will be seen in Metro In Dino Part two with Anurag Basu. She had done Metro In Dino with Irfan Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Kanjana Ranaut. Metro In Dino Part Two is a sequel to Metro In Dino.
