Haresh Kamath is Director for Cross-Cutting Technologies and Solutions at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), managing research, thought leadership, applications, and workforce development for Integrated Grid technologies with a focus on facilitating the reliable, resilient transition to a clean energy economy. As part of this portfolio, he also manages activities in the development, assessment, and implementation of energy storage technologies in grid storage applications.

Kamath joined EPRI in 2002 as a project engineer in energy storage and distributed generation. During his tenure at EPRI, he has conducted research in energy storage, electric transportation, energy efficiency, DER integration, nanotechnology, and technology innovation. He was an author for the first edition of the EPRI-DOE Handbook of Energy Storage. In 2013, Kamath took steps to create the EPRI Energy Storage Integration Council (ESIC), a technical forum to facilitate the deployment and use of utility-scale energy storage systems.

Before joining EPRI, Kamath worked at Lockheed Martin Space Systems as a product engineer responsible for spacecraft batteries. He also served as an applications engineering and business development manager at a startup energy storage company.

Kamath received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Stanford University.

Director, Integrated Energy & Storage Systems at Idaho National Laboratory
Dr. Shannon Bragg-Sitton is the Director for the Integrated Energy & Storage Systems Division at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). She is internationally recognized for work on innovative applications of nuclear energy and other clean energy options to support the electricity grid, industry, and transportation. This research enables us to maximize energy utilization, increase energy production facilities’ profitability, and improve grid reliability and resilience.

Dr. Bragg-Sitton has held multiple leadership roles in DOE Office of Nuclear Energy programs since joining INL in 2010, including program leadership for space nuclear power and propulsion systems, advanced nuclear fuels, used fuel disposition, and microreactor development. She spearheaded establishment of the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy Integrated Energy Systems (IES) program in 2014 and served as the National Technical Director from 2014-2023. Dr. Bragg-Sitton continues to lead international collaborations for IES and chairs the Generation IV International Forum Task Force on Non-electric Applications of Nuclear Heat.

Dr. Bragg-Sitton holds an MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from University of Michigan, an MS in Medical Physics from the University of Texas at Houston, and a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University. She is a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and a Founding Member of both the International Youth Nuclear Congress and the North American Young Generation in Nuclear.

Vice President, Transmission & Markets at Clean Grid Alliance
David has been actively involved in wholesale electricity industry restructuring for nearly 30 years.
For the past 17 years, David has been Director of Market Intelligence at Customized Energy Solutions (CES), where he provided MISO monitoring and analysis services for a wide range of clients and represented the interests of a group of transmission dependent utilities in MISO stakeholder discussions. Prior to joining CES, as a commissioner's advisor at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, he helped with the approval of the first high-voltage regional transmission line in decades while helping lead multi-sector stakeholder reviews of MISO's energy market implementation as well as Wisconsin stakeholders' MISO policy initiatives. In the early 2000s as a commissioner's advisor at the (then-named) Tennessee Regulatory Authority, he served on a governor's task force to create a transmission open access pilot program.

David will be responsible for shaping and directing the organization's work to expand transmission, streamline generation interconnections, and facilitate new market opportunities for clean energy growth across the Midcontinent and with neighboring RTOs. As part of this work, he will draw on his experience to seek ways to collaborate productively with other stakeholders and policymakers for sustainable clean energy expansion.

David holds a BA in economics from Trinity University in Texas and a PhD in economics from Vanderbilt University.

Aaron Larson joined the POWER team in September 2013 as an associate editor and was named executive editor in 2017. Aaron has a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering technology and a master’s degree, specializing in finance. He spent 13 years in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program, advancing to Chief Petty Officer. He has worked at commercial nuclear, biomass, and coal-fired power plants, functioning in operations, maintenance, safety, financial, and management capacities. Aaron holds a Chief A Engineer boiler operator license in the state of Minnesota.
