Basis of this is that if you tear away the jersey underneath you will find the women who make them who they are.

Thoughts.

Looks good mate. I think it might look better if the the tear away marks went further down on the jersey.

I don't like the change of the logo for the match though.

Here is the second version, I had a back for this design as well, but when I went to save it Photoshop crashed. Subsequently lost 2 hours work (including the following new design elements which means I can't even quickly redo the back), bloody crushed as it looked good. Moral of the story: Save all the time, even when in the zone.

You had a similar idea to A though.

I know. On another forum when that one was described I immediately went looking for the photo because it initially sounded like a white version of mine. Won't be surprised if it wins and the marketing happens to be the same as my suggestion of a player with their clawed hand across the front, like the player was ripping the jersey and revealing the pink underneath.

Well it won't be me, but here are the possible designs:

Am I the only one a little underwhelmed by those? I must say, I am a sucker for a good "special jumper/jersey etc." but none of those really tickle my fancy all that much.

If I was to pick one it would probably be B. A isn't too bad either I guess...

Final Four: jersey design competition

Wests Tigers have reached the next stage of the Design our Women in League Jersey competition, following the thousands of votes that flooded in on social media.

Jersey A, B, C and F have made it through to the next round due to their overwhelming popularity, with samples now to be created of each design.

There was a huge response in the voting polls, with supporters having their say through various social media platforms, including the Wests Tigers official Social Network.

Designer of Jersey A, Penelope Astridge said that the competition was a chance to show off her skills as a Creative Designer.

“To have the opportunity to design something for a big company like this is great, its something I will definitely use in my portfolio.” Astridge said.

Jersey B was sent in by Andrew Bulmer, who jumped at the chance to design a Wests Tigers jersey.

“Being a life-long Wests Tigers fan I thought it was a great initiative by the club to let the fans design a jersey,” Bulmer said.

“I thought it would be cool to have the traditional V style as a pink jersey.”

Along with jersey A, design C was a front-runner on social media, which is something designer Wade Stewart was a little surprised by.

“I actually had two jerseys in the final six,” Stewart said.

“I was just hoping that I got one in, but to get two was great.”

Wade’s other design was Jersey D, the pink alternative of C, did not make the final four designs.

The remaining of the four, Jersey F, belongs to Queensland resident Simon Lilley who wanted his entry to commemorate the Balmain Tigers 1939 Grand Final win.

The club will now produce samples of these four jerseys and have the players model them to help us decide on the winner.

The samples are due in at the end of next week, with our final design to be chosen before the kick-off of round one.

Wests Tigers General Manager, Grant Mayer said that the overwhelming success of the competition is an indication of where the club is heading with fan engagement initiatives in the future.

“With the massive response we received from our fans we are strongly considering going with this type of competition for the 2014 home kit,” Mayer said.

“It may be that we will put it to our Members to enter their design as it will be a great incentive to get on board with the club.”

“We debated long and hard about the Women in League Jersey Design but the success of the initiative has given us confidence that it will be highly successful in 2013.”

The players also had their say via Social Media, with club captain Robbie Farah selecting “Jersey B”, Benji Marshall voting for “Jersey A” and Aaron Woods voting for Jersey "F".

The public will get to see what the final four designs look like on a player when the boys model the jerseys next week.

From the above the following took my eye;

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the winner of the Women In League design competition.
Following extensive consultation with members, corporate partners, playing group and retailers, the Club decided to go with the jersey designed by Simon Lilley. The jersey was the letter 'F' design in the final four.
“This traditional jersey has a heritage feel about it and celebrates more than 100 years of women's involvement in the clubs and in Rugby League in general,’’ Lilley said.

Grant Mayer, Wests Tigers General Manager of Commercial Operations, said the jumper represents all things that are important to the Club.

“The jumper has classic design elements from both clubs. It has retail appeal as it doesn’t clash with any other jersey in our range and has wide ranging support from the playing and fan base,’’ Mayer said.
“There will be some people who will be disappointed that their first choice didn’t win this time but we are extremely confident the design will prove exceptionally popular.

Simon will receive a signed Women in League jumper as well as an Out of Towners Membership with Wests Tigers and a place in history!

When told of the winning entrant, Wests Tigers Prop Aaron Woods was excited about the jersey.
“When the Club showed me the final six options, I voted for this particularly jersey.

“Having seen the finished product in the office, I was convinced this was the right jersey for this Club.”
The jumper will be released on sale for the round 9 clash against Cronulla at Allianz Stadium on Friday, May 10.
Pre-released orders for Wests Tigers Members only will be available from May 1.

Stay tuned for more information. Congratulations Simon from all at Wests Tigers.

They wacked that jersey together quickly.

I always feel that the logos on the Wests Tigers jerseys are too wide on the chest.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had one from each of the top 6 made up before.

And yes, but would the logo look too close to the BLADES logo in the middle?

Yeah they did say that the top 4 were to be made, but the whole thing was still suss, especially with the winner actually scoring a total of 13% of the vote in the first poll. But it is still a nice design.

Also yeah the logos are a little wide, but the jersey she is wearing is also way to big, it would be a mens in one of the players sizes so it accentuates the wideness of the logos.

I'm not surprised though. I'm sure the idea from the start was to take the top however many and have the members and club decide. It also removes any ridiculous social media campaigns for or against certain designs and/or designers.
