Research on collision avoidance strategy of graded braking

Published: 26 October 2022 Publication History

Abstract

In this paper, the collision avoidance strategy of graded braking is studied. The driver data are collected by driving simulator, and different braking decelerations are given according to different speed ranges. The time-to-collision (TTC) is used to determine the warning and braking time. The upper controller uses the finite state machine, and the lower controller uses proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. The vehicle dynamics model and the hierarchical braking collision avoidance algorithm are established by CarSim software and MATLAB/Simulink, respectively. The joint simulation results show that the proposed collision avoidance strategy can achieve emergency collision avoidance.
