Summary of the typical standards of distance learning service quality evaluation in the U.S., and the UK

Abstract

Distance learning service have been developing unprecedentedly fast recently for its flexibility, excellent quality and reasonable price. The standard of distance learning service quality evaluation has received extensive attention all over the world. In this paper, the Quality on the Line: Benchmarks for Success in Internet-based Distance Education (The U.S.), The Guidelines on the quality assurance of distance learning (The UK), and Quality Matters (The U.S.) have been selected as the samples for the comparative analysis. The result shows that, Assessment, and Learner support are the key benchmarks of distance learning service quality evaluation. An assumption of service quality evaluation index system of distance education in China has been set up at the end of this paper.
