Optimal designs of ambiguous mobile keypad with alphabetical constraints

Published: 08 July 2009 Publication History

Abstract

We address the problem of finding multitap-based optimal keypad designs. This paper presents novel alphabetically-constrained keypad designs, which are optimized on real-world SMS message data by dynamic programming and genetic algorithms. When compared with traditional designs, the proposed ones improved them by about 13 to 28 percent.
