Call recording

Author: Anagha Ravi

Call recording is the ability to record an active call or conference call. Call recordings can then be stored for playback later or to generate a transcription. Call tracking, customer support, and call masking use cases typically record calls and store the recordings to review for training purposes or to review a call in question. You can use Bandwidth’s Phone Call API to record a call. Remember that any call recording is subject to state laws.

How Bandwidth is involved with call recording

Call Recording can be accomplished using the communications API. This is available via HTTP and BXML only today and results in a .wav or .mp3 file being created. There is no control over what part of the call is recorded (it records both parties on the same file).

What are the benefits of Bandwidth’s call recording

By using Bandwidth APIs, you are able to access the Call Recording feature while also gaining the added benefits of working with Bandwidth. Since Bandwidth owns and operates one of the largest All-IP Voice networks in the nation, we are able to offer competitive pricing for our services. What does this mean for you? No middleman. More savings. Another benefit to owning the network is Bandwidth’s ability to scale to meet your business’ needs. Whether you are trying to keep a record of calls to brainstorm for your start-up or you need to replay exactly what that huge client wants, we can scale our call recording to fit all of your business needs, big or small. The most important benefit (we’re biased), is the world-class team that we have on-call to support you with any issues that may pop up. We’ve mastered Call Recording, so you can master what matters to you.
