Benefit The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition’s 5K Run/3K Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The run will be timed, and awards for various age groups will be given. There will also be entertainment for adults and children and refreshments donated by local businesses. Golf tournament Hospice of the Chesapeake invites area golfers to its annual fundraiser Oct. 6 at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course in Queenstown. Tournament contests include an opportunity to win a Mercedes-Benz with a hole-in-one, as well as a $2,000 cash prize raffle.
Registration is $250 per person and $900 for foursomes, which includes greens fees, cart, a continental breakfast, lunch, awards banquet, contests and prizes. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Proceeds will support programs and services offered by Hospice of the Chesapeake in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties.
