Dance concert
The Misako Ballet Company will hold a free dance concert from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at 5485 Harper’s Farm Road, Suite 203 in the Harper’s Choice Village Center. Art classes
The Columbia Art Center will offer landscape painting classes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 13 through Oct. 18. Instructor Chaya Schapiro will focus on the fundamental skills of drawing, value and color. A demonstration with oil paint will be held during each class. The cost is $130, $120 for Columbia residents.
The center will also offer classes in watercolor painting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 14 through Nov. 9, in which participants can learn the basics. The cost is $135, $125 for Columbia residents.

Paper shredding
The Wilde Lake Community Association will offer free shredding for neighborhood residents from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in the parking lot of the former Giant Food Store in Wilde Lake. Concert series
The UU Chalice Concert Series opens its season with “Framed Pairs: A Recital for Harp and Flute,” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way.
