The Bear season 3 finally gets a teaser and release date
The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, will return to Hulu on June 27
It feels like it’s been a long time since we last saw The Bear, given the whole strike situation between seasons, but you can say one thing about the show: it releases a new season on a regular, annual schedule. Yep, The Bear is back for its third season on June 27, when all 10 episodes will be available for viewing on Hulu. When so many Peak TV series are taking multiple years between seasons, it’s nice to have a streaming hit that’s actually reliable. (We’re looking at you, Severance!)
The Bear release date news was accompanied by the first teaser for the season, which features an isolated, unhappy-looking Carmy alone in the restaurant’s kitchen. He unfolds his knives and hits us with a thousand-yard stare before the camera pans all the way out of the building and onto the Chicago city skyline, moody music playing all along. The whole thing is a real barrel o’ laughs, befitting an Emmy winner for Outstanding Comedy Series. (Yeah, yeah, the “Is The Bear funny?” debate is tired, sorry.)
“Season three of FX’s The Bear follows Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard ‘Richie’ Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they do what it takes to elevate The Bear, their beef stand turned fine dining establishment, to the highest level, all while doing their best just to stay in business. It’s a losing battle every single day in the restaurant business. Carmy pushes himself harder than ever, and demands excellence from his crew, who do their best to match his intensity,” reads a synopsis for the new season. “Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together. As the team grows in size, each member will strive to reach a greater level of service within their role. In the restaurant industry, you’re never on solid ground, and with that ever-changing landscape comes new challenges and opportunities. Our chefs have learned that every second counts, but this season we’ll find out if they have what it takes to make it to tomorrow.”
The Bear has a lot to prove after its aforementioned Emmy win—and reminder, by a quirk of timing, last year’s Emmys sweep was for the first season of the show. The second season will compete at this year’s Emmys, after we’ve already seen the third season, which is a tad confusing. To discombobulate you further, the show reportedly already filmed its fourth season back-to-back with the third. There were rumors the show would conclude with four, but those have so far been unsubstantiated. Of course, the cast is incredibly in demand right now, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be back for more Beef. But let’s take things one season at a time, shall we?
