Mom selling Taylor Swift tickets she got for daughter’s birthday, citing popstar’s Harris endorsement
Hopefully, her daughter can shake this off.
A mom is selling three Taylor Swift tickets she bought for her daughter’s 13th birthday, citing the megastar’s endorsement of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris while explaining her decision.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the woman reveals that is putting her three tickets for the Toronto leg of the Eras tour on sale because she no longer wants to support Swift and her “non-Christian beliefs.”
“Hi, this message is for Taylor Swift,” the mom said. “Although I know it’s probably a long shot and it’ll never get to you, hey, worth a shot.”
“My tickets are now up for sale because I don’t want to spend another dollar supporting you and your private planes and your non-Christian beliefs,” the mom said.
She added that she felt former President Donald Trump was ‘the right guy for the job,” and blasted the ‘Cruel Summer” singer for being an out-of-touch billionaire with private planes, echoing vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s recent comments that Swift is “fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans.”
The mom further claimed that if Harris should get elected, the “economy is screwed.”
“Donald Trump is the right guy for the job. If the economy of the United States suffers, the whole world suffers, Taylor, and if the whole suffers, there goes your job, your career, because nobody’s gonna be able to afford going to your concert,” she said in the video.
The mom said she had initially scored the Nov. 15 tickets for her daughter’s birthday, because she‘s “been a Taylor Swift fan forever.”
Swift announced she would be voting for Harris shortly after the Tuesday debate, shocking very few who have followed her political leanings in the past.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” she said in the now widely-seen Instagram post.
Her endorsement led to an uptick in traffic to vote.gov.
The mom said Swift’s quick post following the debate showed she didn’t have “an open mind.”
She also said abortion access and LGBTQ rights would not be affected under a Trump administration, adding that a “believer” would not support abortion.
She closed with a dramatic sign-off, saying, “so with that, I’m gonna shake it off, and I’m done with you.”
