Michael Strahan's Lengthy Absence from 'GMA' Explained

While fans of Good Morning America and Michael Strahan might be unhappy—or even concerned—that the star has been missing from the show for some time now, they can rest assured that he is making great use of his time off.

The 52-year-old is seemingly enjoying a much-deserved vacation in the Bahamas with his twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella Strahan, after the latter announced that she was officially in remission from her cancer.

His two daughters shared sweet updates on social media, and while Strahan wasn't in the photos himself, his two dogs, Zuma and Enzo, were spotted, meaning the former NFL player was likely nearby. Strahan has been missing from the morning show for over a week, mainly keeping quiet and providing no Instagram updates to explain exactly why he was out.

Sophia shared a photo dump on Instagram, captioning photos of herself in a light pink bikini, "bahamas babies 🐶🎀."

Isabella followed with her own set of photos, with the first showing the sisters posing in stylish outfits in front of a luxurious pool, with the caption reading, "Happy here."

Other snaps showed off Isabella's cute swimsuit collection, with the 19-year-old rocking both a black bikini and a tropical patterned set on the beach.

Fans cheered Isabella on in the comments—many reacting to the recent news that no cancer was detected in her body—with replies like, "You are so beautiful and an inspiration to so many!! 💚." and "You are gorgeous and a warrior❤️."

"The only place to be is where you’re happy… you deserve it 💪," said another.

On July 18, Isabella shared her most recent update on her cancer treatment with a new vlog on her YouTube channel, saying "Goodbye Hospital" and sharing the great news that doctors confirmed with a scan that she was in remission from her cancer.

The college student was first diagnosed in late October of last year and has documented the whole journey on her channel, sharing honest videos with fans as she underwent chemotherapy and emergency surgeries. Now, Isabella is spending time with her family on a happy vacation in the Bahamas.

As for when fans might be able to expect Strahan back on their TVs, it's unclear exactly when he will be returning from Good Morning America.
