Who did the Nashville Predators take in the 2024 NHL Draft? Recap of Rounds 3-7

LAS VEGAS — The Nashville Predators selected a total of eight players in the 2024 NHL Draft, adding six forwards, one defenseman and one goaltender to their prospects roster.

On Friday, the Predators started the draft by picking Russian forward Egor Surin at No. 22 in the first round. General manager Barry Trotz said he attempted multiple times to trade up to get Surin, but the forward ended up available at the slot anyway.

In the second round on Saturday, the Predators took TeddyStiga out of the U.S. National Team Development Program with their No. 55 selection. Stiga is committed to Boston College for the 2024-25 season.

Here's a recap of the six other players Nashville drafted at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Round 3 (No. 77): Viggo Gustafsson, defenseman

Viggo Gustafsson is a 6-foot-2, 196-pound left-handed defenseman out of HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Seen primarily as a defensive defenseman, Gustafsson brings a solid physical game on the back end. Though his offensive upside is limited — he had 19 points in 41 games on HV71's U20 team last year — he is a nice addition to the Predators' roster of blueline prospects.

This slot came about after a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers, who received the Predators' No. 59 pick. Nashville got the No, 77 pick, plus a third-round pick in 2025.

Round 3 (No. 87): Miguel Marques, forward

A small but feisty winger, Miguel Marques (5-10, 187) scored 28 goals and added 46 assists for Lethbridge in the Western Hockey League (WHL) last season. Scouts see him as an explosive, play-driving forward with a decent shot. His offensive instincts are high. Some saw him as a top-20 selection, though inconsistency caused him to fall in the draft. This is a good value pick for the Predators.

Round 3 (No. 94): Hiroki Gojsic, forward

Hiroki Gojsic is a 6-3, 198-pound right-handed winger out of the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL. He has a powerful shot and knack for winning pucks along the boards. He trends as a power forward in the NHL, but he will have to improve his skating and speed before he gets there. He scored 21 goals and had 29 assists for the Rockets last season.

Round 4 (No. 99): Jakub Milota, goaltender

The only goaltender picked by Nashville in this draft, Jakub Milota played 33 games for the Cape Breton Eagles in the QMJHL last year. He finished with a .905 save percentage and a 2.82 goals-allowed average. He is seen as a good skating goaltender who uses his edges well, though maybe a little conservative in his approach in the net. The 6-2, 168-pound Czech native also represented Team Czechia in the World Junior Championships last year.

Round 4 (No. 127): Viktor Norringer, forward

Viktor Norringer is a 6-3, 196-pound right-handed left winger out of Frolunda in Sweden's J20 Nationell league. He has the size to play in the NHL, but little else is known about him. He scored eight goals and four assists in 25 games as a 17-year-old in an under-20 league. He had 45 points (20 goals, 25 assists) in only 23 games playing for Frolunda's under-18 team, hence the quick promotion.

The No. 127 pick was the result of a trade with the New York Rangers, who received pick No. 119. The Predators also got a seventh-round pick in the 2026 draft in the deal.

Round 7 (No. 213): Erik Pahlsson, forward

Erik Pahlsson is a 6-1, 183-pound left-handed forward who played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL last season. He scored 28 goals and had 44 assists in 57 games, adding a goal and four assists in 11 playoff games. He has decent puck skills, but needs to work on speed and shooting. An over-ager (he turned 20 in April), Pahlsson is committed to the University of Minnesota for the 2024-25 season.
