Rody's Appliance Repair
He was to be at my place at 9:00 AM. He was very punctual, professional, and informative. He did the job quickly and efficiently. I would recommend him to anyone - was the best experience I've had with any repairman.

American West Appliance Repair
I called for service around noon on a Tuesday and Fred, the repair man, was at our house by 1 PM. He instantly identified the problem which related to the accumulation of ice at the rear of the refrigerator's freezer compartment. Periodically the ice would melt & water flowed into an air vent which lead to the refrigerator below. He removed the ice. No parts needed. Fred noticed that the freezer door required a bit of a push to securely close. He adjusted the door's hinge and the problem was solved. The complete job took about 40 minutes. The company's $45 fee to evaluate the job was deducted from the service cost and a 30% discount was also applied. Net cost was $154

Lerman Appliances
I needed repair on my Whirlpool refrigerator--new water filter would not "catch" and stay in. Service rep arrived on time as promised. Problem was that spring designed to "catch" and hold water filter cartridge was broken. Since he was able to "power" a new cartridge in satisfactorily, he suggested that when it is time for a new filter cartridge I have the actual repair (which he quoted) done at that time--thus delaying an outlay of money until absolutely necessary. This was appreciated

LONG BEACH MAYTAG HOME APPLIANCE CENTER
I was pleased with the work and the technician Paul. I found Gayle helpful and responsive on the phone. They were, however, too optimistic on when Paul would arrive at my home. I was told he would arrive around 1:00 pm and I finally got a call from him at 4:45 pm saying he was running late. He was apologetic upon his arrival at 5:30 pm and again while he was servicing the refigerator. His sincere apology erased all my annoyance from having to wait around and he quickly and efficiently repaired my refrigerator

Airflow Appliance Repair
Tech was Russian. Not much for small talk but great with being focused on the issue. He seemed very knowledgable about his work and actually hummed a Christmas song....in August? They arrived on time, got the job done. Cleaned up and assisted with relocating the refrigerator back into the space. I'd taken it out originally. Thought the pricing was a little too high? $79.00 for unit replacement in back and $95.00 labor. Less than an hour for all to be completed. He had the parts...that's the big thing. So frustrating to have an independent guy out and he doesn't have parts? I would recommend this firm for appliance issues. We have Maytag washer/dryer units that sometimes need to be addressed. Have always used local guy put he's sinced passed away. I would recommend this company again

Lerman Appliances
We had such a great experience the first time we needed Mr. Lerman's help with our Whirlpool fridge (which was not keeping food cool). So, we decided to go ahead and have him order and install a new icemaker since that had stopped working years ago (and we were tired of making ice cubes). Mr. Lerman ordered the parts and installed them. We got an appointment right away and he arrived promptly. He is very professional and really knows his stuff. In less than 20 min. he had installed the new icemaker and grille. He's also such a nice man, it's a pleasure having him here. He didn't mind our overly-friendly dog. It's wonderful doing business with a fair, honest, experienced professional who is also a really nice, kind person. We highly recommend Lerman Applicance

Around The Clock Appliance Repair
The ice maker in our Whirlpool refrigerator stopped dispensing ice a while ago, and the ice in the container was melting into a block. The repair person diagnosed the problem as a bad door hinge cam. He also said that the coils required maintenance. He gave me an estimate of $320, with the cost approximately split between the two things he was proposing to do. Once I okayed the estimate, he went to work on the first $160 worth of work, which turned out to be pulling out a duster and wiping the coils to remove built up lint, followed by spraying the outside of the coils for a second with an aerosol can. He then replaced the cam which he correctly diagnosed as keeping the door ajar and causing problems for the ice maker. He then told me he was finished, and I paid him $320. Since I had not seen him actually try to use the ice dispenser, I asked him if he was sure it was fixed. He said yes, but then tried it, and it was in fact working no better than before he arrived. He finally said it must be the motor, and since I had already paid $320 said he would order a new motor the next day and would install it for just the cost of the part. After a week passed with no word from the company, my wife called and the workman agreed to come out at the beginning of the following week, and again assured us he would only charge us his cost for the motor. He did come the following week and installed a new motor, which fixed the problem. He charged us $150 for "his cost" for the motor. A quick Google search of Whirlpool ice maker replacement motors shows that the retail cost is around $70. He also installed a new igniter in our oven. The cost was itemized at $140 in parts and $140 in labor, for a total of $280 plus tax. It took him approximately 20 minutes to do the repair. Another Google search for oven igniters shows that they retail for for anywhere between $12 and $40. So, the actual itemization would have been more like $40 for parts (probably not that much, even at retail, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt) and $240 dollars for 20 minutes of labor. That pencils out to $720 per hour if my math is correct. The repairman drove a Mercedes truck the size of a battle ship, and after paying their rates, I know why. On the plus side, each time he came out, he informed me that for some unknown reason I was the lucky recipient of a $20 discount. He also had a non-stop rap the whole time he was here about how honest he is, as opposed to everyone else. So to recap, it took 10 days to get the ice dispenser repaired, and required a follow-up call from us. But both appliances were repaired. So, they're not totally incompetent. They just focus a small part of their efforts on simple appliance repairs and a huge focus on ripping you off. Needless to say, I would never under any circumstances call these guys again. It's really a drag, because we found them on Angie's List, which has been a great resource for us, and is usually very helpful. In this case, it was really a disaster. Either people are not examining the way these guys rip you off, or they're not following up with a report. In my opinion, we all need to be more vigilant to eliminate this kind of abusive, unethical business practice
