Mike arrived during the agreed-upon time frame, always a plus. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to share info about our malfunctioning 18-year-old GE gas range. He diagnosed the problem quickly and gave us a range of options, including the estimated cost of repair, which seemed reasonable. He replaced our igniter, at which time he could tell that we did not need an additional repair that can sometimes be caused by a bad igniter, so he gets big points for honesty as well. We called Lerman years ago and were pleased with their service then. I'm happy to report that they have maintained their excellent staff and service record. My Kitchenaid gas cooktop shockingly started to emit sparks from the burners even though it was not in use. I called John Elwart Appliance repair after seeing his ad in the Culver City News. I left a voicemail and received a call back from John a few hours later. He came to my house the same day at 6:15 PM to accommodate my work schedule. He diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate for the labor and informed me that a couple of parts were needed for the repair. He gave me the part numbers and websites to use for the parts needed and asked me to order the parts. He told me to call him when the parts arrived so that he could come back to finish repairing my cooktop. After the parts arrived, as promised John came back promptly and repaired my cooktop. I found the service he provided to be excellent. I especially liked that he had me order the parts needed directly since he did not uncharge me for the parts as most repair companies probably do. I found that his charge for labor was reasonable and am very happy with the service John provided. I will definitely use John again should any of my appliances need repairshow more

The dryer was making a terrible racket and then stopped heating. I called Craig of AARS and after several back and forth calls, we scheduled a day and time. Craig came on schedule and immediately made a good impression by introducing himself to the family dog! He promptly went to work, located the problem; a dryer fabric sheet stuck in the blower fan and non-functioning rep. coils. He completed the repairs and in addition he cleaned all the lint out of the machine and duct work. Craig was friendly, informative and obviously very competent. My dishwasher smelled like it had a burned out motor, and I spent considerable time debating whether to replace or repair it. I'm glad I called Williams Refrigeration and Appliance Repair as he was able to fix it in short order and for very little money (it turned out the motor was not burned out after all). Plus, my gas dryer was squealing, so he did a complimentary check up and lubrication on it as well. I have used this company in the past to repair my gas range. The repair was successful. I was able to schedule the first appointment for the next day. The repairman called before he arrived, which happened in the promised timeframe on both visits. He diagnosed the problem quickly. The only problem was that parts had to be ordered, and he gave me an estimate of one week to get them. However, after 2 weeks I still hadn't heard from them, so I called and found that the parts were expected the following day. The next day, they called to schedule the repair, which was done the following day. The delay in receiving the parts probably wasn't their fault, but it did leave me with the cooktop problem longer than I expectedshow more

They came out right away, and entered with a small closed box. They said it was my gas valve assembly, and that there were two prices, a cheaper and a more expensive price. The more expensive price was $100 more than the cheap price. My dryer is a Maytag, and I was told that if I chose the more expensive option, it would last for ten years. He took out the front of the dryer, sat in front of it about 3 minutes (blocking my view) and then was finished! He did not show me the new part, did not show me the old part, and did not itemize the invoice. I just received the invoice that said "Fixed gas assembly with 30% off labor". My dryer is now doing the same thing it was when I asked them to come out, it has not been fixed, and I am $380 poorer. I have contacted this service provider, and the only thing they offered was a 10% off discount. I feel it was a scam, that it was quick and sleazy, I just don't want them in my houseshow more
