Best Racoon Control in Los Angeles

I've had raccoons living in my attic, off and on, for years. A couple of years ago, I had a pest control company come out to trap one on my roof. They were able to get the raccoon, but the repair they did to the area the raccoon was entering my attic was not sturdy, and the raccoons pulled it apart and set up shop again. I had Jose out for an inspection of the situation and he explored all areas of my roof. He advised me some roof work was needed in two areas, and as soon as that was done he would return to set the trap. To make a long story short, the roof was fixed and the entrance boarded up. But in the meantime the raccoons had apparently moved out. The trap was on the roof for 3 days, but no raccoon was trapped. The trapping would have cost $375, but since there was no raccoon trapped, Jose did not charge me anything, even though he had to come out twice after the initial inspection. Fine. I had a gang of raccoons show up in my backyard. At first I didn't care but, they kept destroying my yard and making a rukus! I found Riviera Pest Control through an online search. They had good reviews on another website. Gabe came out, set some traps. Within a few day he had all the raccoons and my problem was solved. I was lazy about sealing up an opening to a crawl space above my kitchen, below a patio, and a raccoon family moved in. As one of the contingencies for selling my house, they had to be removed. I originally used a comany that does regular pest maintenance on my employers properties, but he didn't have the skill to get the job done- I either had to train the raccoon to the cage, or wait for them to come out and close up the opening. It was just too much for me to take on. Jeremy of ACWC, seems to be the owner operator, called me back promptly, came the same day, was able to remove the juvenille raccoon with a hook and snare, and set a trap for the mother. Jeremy came back the next morning, closed up the opening, after triple checking that the mother was gone. There was a lot of critter noise coming from on top of my den which has a flat roof. The critter noise got louder and louder and more frequent until I realized that I had upstairs neighbors moving into the attic. They got so loud that I couldn't hear the television, and they were so close that they shut up when I yelled at them to be quiet. When I found out how much damage they can do, I decided to call a professional. I had no idea what to expect as the wildlife around here and I generally coexist by ignoring each other. I did not particularly want to have the raccoon family trapped and killed/euthanized which seems to be one of the only options because California does not allow raccoons to be relocated. Mr. Becerra explained that he would basically make the raccoon mother feel like it was no longer a safe place for her family, and she would relocate them herself. This required various raccoon harassment techniques which sounded kind of unusual as I had never been exposed to the world of wildlife control. The internet assured me that none of these techniques would work, and only trapping and euthanizing would solve the problem. Well that'll show the internet! Mama raccoon and her noisy babies moved out silently and never came back. I mean I never heard a peep out of them again. After that first night of peace and quiet, I decided Mr. Becerra is like a wildlife shaman or a raccoon whisperer because I am still amazed how smooth this whole process has been. He gave the raccoon family a week to be sure they were good and gone. Since there was still not a peep out of the former residents, he returned and sealed up the opening where the raccoon got into the attic so that no other wildlife squatters take up residence. If he closed it up the same day, the mother would have ripped open the roof to get her babies, as any good mother would do. Mr. Becerra accommodated my tough work schedule and was prompt and courteous. He answered the phone each time I called. He came the next day. And he understands the animals, their behavior. He didn't charge me until the raccoon situation was resolved. He is a true professional. It's really freaking amazing to get so lucky on my first try to find someone so competent and helpful! Jeremy inspected under the building on first visit and we saw a cat that looked somewhat like a raccoon from the back. Jeremy suggested it was very likely there was only this cat and no raccoon. We blocked the access point for animals to go under the building, and didn't leave traps. After more reports of a raccoon being seen. Jeremy and his assistant came again. Jeremy inspected comprehensively under the building. They set up two traps in the outside area around the spot where the raccoon was last seen, and instructed me how to release cats if they get trapped, how to re-activate and re-bait the trap. The traps remained for about 10 days. No raccoon was caught or seen. We had to release a few cats out of the traps a few times. It was concluded that there's no raccoon, and we had Jeremy remove the traps. Jeremy were responsive to phone calls, punctual for appointments, friendly and knowledgeable. Wow. Mr. Becerra is the quintessential professional; I would recommend him to anyone without reservation of any kind. We live in the South Shores neighborhood of San Pedro. There are houses on each side of us, one of which has a stand of South African Bird of Paradise (the 20-foot-tall variety) in which a pair of raccoons were living. The raccoons apparently had a deep and abiding hatred of plastics, as every toy my daughters left in the back yard that was plastic would be destroyed over a period of days. Soccer balls, dolls, kiddie pools, you name it. So, the raccoons had to go. I called up Mr. Becerra and he explained how he works -- there's a fee for each targeted animal removed, and a fee for putting the traps in place IF ANIMALS ARE CAUGHT. Note that -- if Mr. Becerra sets the traps and does not catch what you hired him to catch, he doesn't charge you for the time and effort he put into coming out, evaluating your situation, and setting the traps. And note also - he charges for removing the targeted animals, not for visiting your house, as several other guys I called do, and not for resetting the traps when you've caught something other than what you are targeting. If you catch a cat or a skunk when you are going after raccoons, and Mr. Becerra comes out to reset and rebait, no charge. If you never catch a raccoon (assuming that's the nuisance animal you're after) -- no charge. As he said to me: "If I don't do my job, I don't want to be paid." We caught raccoons, and Mr. Becerra got paid. We had seen a pair of raccoons meandering around our yard at night, and were pretty sure that's all we were dealing with. Mr. Becerra nevertheless set three traps to be on the safe side, and spent some time showing me where they were climbing into the yard, pointing out marks the raccoons were leaving on our fence. A couple mornings later, we had our first raccoon. I called Mr. Becerra and he was out that afternoon to pick it up and rebait the traps. A few mornings after that, we had the other raccoon in a trap. Again, Mr. Becerra came out the same day to collect the critter. Instead of taking the traps (remember - we'd seen 2 raccoons, so we were thinking we were done) he said we should leave them in place just in case there were any others. We didn't catch any more raccoons, but that's not the point - the point is he suggested leaving them in place, and let us hang on to them until we called to have them picked up, a full 3 weeks later. No charge. And again, he came to collect the traps the same day I called him. All calls I made to him were answered immediately or returned within 30 minutes. When he said he'd be at my house at a certain time, he was there, on time or a few minutes early. His truck is clearly marked with the name of his business and phone number. He's got a sharp uniform, and an easy manner. He does all the work himself - no subcontracting - coming out to my house in San Pedro even though he lives up in Sylmar. As much as I hated to part with $300 to get rid of a raccoon that did damage to our roof, I was happy to give my business to Jeremy. He was so helpful and knowledgeable and timely. We used the All City Animal Control office located in Seal Beach (Orange County). We first heard the raccoon two months ago and then a few days later heard the squeaking noises of babies. After trying to scare them out with lights, ammonia, and loud music on our own (as we read about online)...we decided we needed professional help. These guys were very tenacious and did not give up. After three different methods of trying to get the raccoon to leave (simple cage; pheromone tactics; and finally spraying the crawl spay thoroughly with ammonia) she left. Humanely (which was important to my wife and I). Scott, the primary technician, was professional, dependable, accessible (we spoke with him many times before, during and after the process) and tenacious. We really want to recommend Scott and All City especially since we wasted $300 on another Critter Control service in Orange County that basically came by, looked around and set up two cage traps and left...their contract said we could use the traps for three days and after that...see ya. No guarantees. All City guaranteed us they would get the raccoon outshow more

The first time the trap was placed in the yard, the raccoon went into the trap and removed the can of food. At the same time he tore up my yard. I called the company and then sent out the original rep. who explained that the trap was defective and replaced it. He came twice more and always left a receipt. After that someone else was apparently assigned to my case. He never announced himself or left a receipt. It appeared that the food had again been removed but I never saw anyone with whom to discuss the matter. Afterwards I called the company to complain and it took several days before I received a response. Although they were polite, no further action was taken. We know that the raccoon is still here because he has now moved to under my house. They had my money, I still had my raccoonshow more

A couple of months ago, my husband awoke to the sounds of an animal playing what sounded like field hockey on the roof of our bedroom. He tried making loud noises to scare off the animal, but what turned out to be a very large raccoon did not leave until after the sprinklers started and he had climbed off the roof to get water. The raccoon returned a couple of days later and that was when I called Animal Capture. Jeremy came right out to set the traps and explained how best to avoid trapping the neighborhood cats in traps. The first animal we caught was a possum, and since we were convinced that the animal on the roof was a raccoon, we continued with the trapping. After catching the first raccoon, Jeremy recommended that we wait several days before having him pick up the traps just to be sure that we had caught the right one. Its a good thing that we waited because the playful raccoon returned a week later even more rambunctious than the previous visit, and it took another week of trap setting before we caught him. Over the course of several weeks, we caught 3 raccoons and 3 possums. With each capture, Jeremy or someone from his team came right over the same day and removed the animal. A couple of times, the captured animals made quite a mess after sitting in the cages for several hours and Jeremy cleaned up the area around the cage and reset it with additional bait. At some point, you realize that you cannot remove all of the animals from the neighborhood, so since we have not heard any more playing on the roof of the house, we feel fairly confident that we caught the most agregious visitor and decided to end the services. Jeremy came right out, picked up the traps and left a bill for his services. He did not try to convince me to continue using the traps or make me feel any worry that my problem had been resolved. He was always professional, courteous and considerate. At one point during our contract, he called me to let me know that he was going to be away for several days, so he instructed me to close the traps and when he returned, he came back out at no charge to rebait and reset the traps. I believe that his prices were fair, but the costs can start to add up pretty quickly once you realize just how many wild animals there are roaming around the neighborhoods and that this is a problem that cannot be completely eradicated (I live in a very urban, busy area and was amazed at the number of raccoons and possums living near us!). Also, I have referred several friends to this company, as well.
