First visit to fix door alarm; tech could not diagnose problem. He said they would call later to discuss next step. Never called and no record of further discussion according to Coastline. They had closed the job and marked as "completed". Still waiting for second visit after complaining to KitchenAid customer service. Have a feeling that these contract warranty services hire contract techs that are only interested in fast repairs. Called Lerman Appliances from work on Thursday and spoke to a very nice, professional lady. Explained that my ice maker died and I tried to fix it myself, but it didn't work. She took all the of the details and the model number. She said a serviceman would come Friday morning from 9 to noon. To my surprise, Vitaliy showed up at 8:50 and quickly diagnosed the problem. He showed me the motor part that had shorted out and left a burn mark on a wheel. I am always interested on how to fix things and realized this was a problem beyond my knowledge base. Since he already had the model number, he came prepared with any parts I might need. He replaced the ice maker and explained how long it would take to start working again. He offered to come back if it did not start making ice cubes once the thermostat was at the right temperature. It is always difficult when you have a stranger come to your house, but after meeting him I was completely comfortable and was impressed that he was efficient, neat and that he took pride in his work. The ice maker in my refrigerator stopped working. They came out gave me an estimate and ordered the parts. It took a couple weeks to get the parts. the repairman came out installed new ice maker and wiring harness but couldn't get it working. They had to come out 2 more times to find the problem, but they didn't charge me for it. I paid less than the original estimate. So they stand behind their work and are fair and professional. At first I was skeptical. The technician suggested new compressor motor. I had had Kitchenaid techs come out 6 times in first year to try and repair refrigerator - the temp would constantly fluctuate in freezer - high, then low, melting and freezing the ice into blocks and cooling unevenly. After one year - warranty expired, no more techs permitted under warranty, we gave up and lived with it. Then, 5 years later - fridge temps HIGH, high, high. Brought Lerman out to do repair. That weekend, temp still fluctuated slightly, but then - miracle - no more fluctuations. Ice stays cold and fridge constant at 37! So relieved - we don't need a new fridge, the repair worked! Here it is 4 months later, still holding. I have had Lerman out before for a d/w repair - Bosch - and they were reasonable and the repair done efficiently and well. Still holding. I would highly recommend Lerman and will use in the futureshow more

I could not be happier. We had been putting up with an increasingly noticeable, yet intermittent rattle for a few weeks, which we could not isolate. I was certain the rattle was a sign of a larger problem. We finally got so fed up that we decided to call someone. Based on their positive feedback, I called Lerman Appliance at ~2:00pm and they agreed to send someone out that evening after I got home from work at ~6:30pm, and the only charge at this time would be a $35 service call charge (waived if they find a problem and we hire them to fix it). Vitaliy showed up at the appointed time and went straight to work. He explored a number of potential causes for the rattle, and even after finding what he thought was the source, checked a few other places to be certain, then waited a few minutes to ensure the noise didn't start up again (as I had mentioned that at times the noise subsides then starts up again). In the end, all it cost was the service call fee. Vitaliy could have easily blamed the problem on something else, or suggested replacing parts due to the age of the refrigerator, or charged some additional fee for solving the problem, but instead he just asked if I was satisfied with the solution and that I give him a call if anything starts to happen again. He could not have been more friendly or more professional. They're going on my speed dial for the next time we need an appliance repairedshow more

Paul was the 6th tech we had out to resolve our kitchenaid fridge leak-no one else was able to figure out the problem. He diagnosed and gave us expert advice on how to proceed (mold removal from improper installation) and explained everything to us clearly and patiently. This is a perfect example of why only reputable experts should be hired to install appliances. We have been living with black mold growing in the walls behind our cupboards since we bought the house 3 years ago! My dishwasher hasn't been cleaning the dishes well for awhile. Serviceman said he's sees this a lot with this brand of dishwasher (KitchenAid) He cleaned out the filter that pulls the water in to allow it to spray. He found a few interesting things in there. A handle of a plastic spoon (!!) and a metal label from a Kitchenaid (!) cutting board. Go figure. anyway my dishwasher is cleaning the dishes once again and I'm happy. Beware of the show! Seems like the repairman made a big deal about the problem and was not sure how to fix the oven. He then gave a worse case scenario that the control board could be bad and he had issues with accessing the components. Given that he said that could be $320 and if he needed to move the oven that would be an extra $150. Thinking about the price of the components I though maybe this is OK. I also showed him why moving the oven was not necessary so he did not push on this. He then asked me if I agreed to the $320 estimate which I was stuck with and as soon as I did the show ended and he seemed to know exactly how to fix it. All it was a blown thermal fuse. They charged me $65 for that part that lists for $22 from the manufacturer. The repair took him 45 minutes. Given that it was not a expensive component and not very much time you would think they would be honest and lower the fee. But of course he did not. I was stuck with the $320 bill. Excellent job overall. The initial response was excellent and the technician was available quickly. The concise diagnosis was that the main pump motor on our Kitchenaid dishwasher was broken. The total estimate (parts & labor) was at the high end ($400), but Kitchenaids are a bit more expensive in general, and this one has a custom front panel, so replacement cost was over $1000. The part was ordered and obtained in a day or two. The technician was prompt and the actual replacement job took about an hour. Very satisfiedshow more

Well this is my first experience with Angies List. So I said, lets give it a shot. There was a broken pulley on my KitchenAid Dishwasher. Although the part cost less than $18 online (for a pair of factory replacement pulleys), I knew it would be a big pain to do the job myself with having to pull out the dishwasher, disconnect the power and water, and then do the 15 minute install. And then re install the dishwasher, power and water line. Getting the unit out from under the counter actually took more than 15 min. Then 15 min to fix the unit, and another 45 to put the unit back. Getting the unit back in and aligned without squeaking did requite another visit. The first technician left knowing I was not 100% satisfied with the repair. But he did take inititive and alert his manager who immediately called me to schedule a complimentary re-visit with their installation pro Michael. So the next morning Michael showed up right on time to finish the repair and get the very tight fitting dishwasher back in its place without any squeaking. Michael was a Lion Tamer and definitely tamed the beast. I am 110% satisfied that AAA Aplience went the extra mile to make me happy and complete the job more than adequate, but to my 110% satisfaction. If the need arises, I will use them again. I was able to schedule an appointment within less than 24 hours of my call - even though it was nothing urgent. I was pleasantly surprised when the tech knocked on our door at exactly 11 am, even though we were given a window of 11-1. He was able to repair both appliances in less than an hour, even with my curious 2 year old practicing his new verbal skills out on our guest. Ease of scheduling, promptness, competence and professionalism - I honestly can not give this company enough stars or glowing reviews. Preston was great and a real gentleman. I had been through two other repair services, including Kitchenaid with less than satisfactory results. The evaporator fan was constantly recycling and eventually the unit failed. The unit needed a new motherboard but the biggest problem was that the motherboard factory was destroyed in the Japan earthquake so you can only have the board rebuilt, there are no new ones available! Shame on Kitchenaid as this refrigerator is only 7 years old. It was a nightmare problem that Preston helped us through with a rental fridge and so far the repair is holding. Great companyshow more

I'd spoken with someone else (the part dealer number given from kitchenaid's phone help line) who had the exact same part for ten dollars more. The dealer ordered the parts and handed off the installation to Coastline. Coastline called us to confirm arrangements for a late December appointment, and their man arrived on time. He installed the parts ordered, but determined that not all the necessary parts had been ordered. Coastline ordered the missing parts. The parts arrived and were installed on January 27. We were very satisfied with Coastline's work. On the other hand, Kitchenaide was very slow to provide necessary parts that should have been part of the original installation. The Lerman technican arrived within the time period promised. He quickly identified the problem, a manufacturers defect that replacement parts were readily available for. The technician returned the next day at the time promised with the new parts, which he installed in less than a half hour. Upon completing that task, he realized that the compactor had never been properly leveled; he fixed that problem as well. As a result, the compactor is working better than it EVER did. As it was a design defect, I frankly wished that the manufacturer (KitchenAid/Whirlpool Corporation) would have reached out proactively to its registered customers and corrected the problem at no charge. But I suppose that's an unrealistic expectation in this day and age. But at least Lerman is a company that stands by its work, has technicians that know what they're doing, and honor promises they makeshow more

I called American West Appliance Repair and spoke to Helen, who was very friendly and professional. She set up my appointment for the next day with a 3 hour window. I asked that the technician call one half hour before. The technician, Igor, was prompt and very knowledgeable. He gave me a price for the job, and fixed the washer, which now works perfectly. I will absolutely refer the company to others, and will use them again in the futureshow more
