These guys were just great. I'm rarely satisfied with contractors, but AAA has earned my respect. Our roof has fragile and expensive composite shakes. We were very worried about damage from workers walking on it and the tent. The crew consisted of Jose and Francisco on the roof and Benjamin on the ground. We watched the entire process. The guys walked like cats on the roof and they padded the corners so the tent wouldn't snag. I had obtained the Dow guidelines for Vikane usage, and being an engineer, I was able to independently calculate the Vikane mass required to achieve the correct concentration in the structure. I asked Benjamin how much gas he was measuring, and our numbers agreed. The exposure and venting durations used by AAA also matched Dow guidelines. They used the correct sensor to measure gas concentration before re-entering the structures. Benjamin was willing to share the readings with us. We had hundreds of previously damaged shakes, and despite their careful efforts, some more were damaged during the fumigation. Fortunately, AAA also does roof repair work. An inspector came out Tuesday and was supposed to give us a quote or call me by Friday with some info on our swallows and we never heard back from them until a week later. I got a call requesting my email address to send the inspection report. In my opinion this information should have been requested when the inspector was there. We discovered we had termites several months ago and after cancelling due to a work schedule we were finally able to go through with the fumigation. Unfortunately when the fumigation team arrived they discovered that we had swallows nesting on our roof. As explained by Ezekiel the terminix rep, swallows are an endangered species and one can be fined up to $20,000 per bird if harmed therefore they could not go further with the fumigation. I was shocked to hear the supervisor Tom on his walkie talkie suggest to Ezekiel that it was really a hornet's nest and not birds, and then when Ezekiel informed him the home owner was present he said "What a waste of a day." I later called our rep, Steve to inform him that we would again have to reschedule. His exact words were, "I want to put a bullet in my head". He was frustrated that we again had to reschedule for another reason. He then suggested that I get one of my workers get a pressure washer and hose down the nests. I told him there were birds inside and he said "they're just birds". His comments were offensive, and unprofessional, not only that he was suggesting that I commit a felony. He called later for a follow up and we informed him that we would not be doing businessshow more

Excellent: Checked out Halo on Angie's list after a recommendation from a neighbor. I called the office to set up a termite inspection, the associate was courteous, and after a series of questions an appointment was set. Shortly after, a representative named Joshua inspected our home. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable he took the time to explained the process of extermination in detail and the steps that were needed in order to attack the problem. He and my wife set up an appointment that worked for her schedule. The day of the extermination went as planned. Eddy, the exterminator, came out to the house and inspected all of the areas again in preparation for extermination. He explained the process thoroughly to my wife before he began. Service went well except at the end the worker whom had never verified my identity by asking for identification/ drivers license, gave me the house keys when I drove up to the house. For security reasons, they should verify identity as I could have been anybody driving up to the house. Seems like an easy way for robbers to do a quick looting if they target tented homesshow more

Run as fast as you can from this termite company. Gary is as rude as can be and the crew is just as bad. When the crew showed up for the fumigation, "Junior" started yelling at my husband that he needed to get his car out of the garage because he was holding them up when they showed up an hour and a half earlier than we expected. Junior continued to yell at him to open the windows and cupboard doors. For some reason they pulled the tent over the house and free standing garage even though they were asked to cover them separately and refused to change it. My concern was that they were now fumigating my driveway and that they would not use enough gas. When trying to talk to them they tried to act like they did not understand English and just walked away. When I called Gary to tell him the problems we were having, the first thing he asked was if my husband yelled at them first because he has never had a complaint like this before. He tried to make me feel like we had done something wrong. Then I realized that I had called the wrong fumigation company and the cost was $2,400 as compared to $1,200 for the same fumigation by the company I MEANT to call. Gary just blew up at me and would not let me get a word in edgewise. He has refused to match the price or even come close only offering up $100. He was so rude and yelling so loud at me that I finally hung up on him. I think he likes to hear himself talk - so unprofessional and a loud hothead. I contacted Suncrest for a quote because I saw their truck at two different neighbor's houses and was very happy I did because they did an excellent job of repairing the wood and tenting at a very reasonable price. They have a friendly and efficient office staff. They do the actual tenting and fumigation, so no subcontracting out. I will use them in the future for pest controlshow more

I was beyond impressed with Mark and Central Termite. Our house had termites because fumigation was handled badly during escrow. Mark negotiated with the prior company for them to pay for the fumigation and wood replacement costs. Everything went very smoothly and Mark was a professional and a gentleman throughoutshow more

Tenting was done and they did NOT break any roof tiles ! However, 2 negatives: 1) the gutter downspouts had to be disconnected, which this firm sent a couple of guys to do that and they did disconnect. BUT they never came back to reconnect them after the tenting - so I had to do that myself. 2) COMMUNICATION: it is only good with the secretary/ phone operator. BUT there is NO SINGLE LEAD person responsible for the whole project that you can directly call to address questions/ issues. Tenting team is separate from estimator/inspector and is separate from the guys disconnecting the gutter, etc. I thought the Inspector was the Lead person. BUT, he was good returning my calls ONLY BEFORE I signed the offer to proceed, BUT never returned my calls AFTERWARDS. So I had to rely on the secretary for printing out my emails to the firm and placing them on Inspector's desk and then had to wait for something to happenshow more

I'm here to notify the public about this business. They are currently threatening my mother to take legal actions if my sister does not take her review down. They are attempting to bully the public by suppressing our first amendment. According to the federal law yelp protects consumers with the "Right to Yelp" the Consumers Review Fairness Act. I'm hoping yelp takes My complaint serious and alerts the Consumers about this business threatening the public. A Guy named Nathan (I believe the owner) has called my mother multiple times even leaving voicemails cursing at her threatening if she does not take the post down he would subpoena her and take her to court, along with taking her house away. A bit dramatic if you ask me and a lawyer I spoke to. I don't like people calling my mother stupid or cursing at her over the phone. I normally wouldn't get involved but I'm sure any yelp user would feel the same if a company threaten and bullied their mother. A little history of what happen: My mother had her home fumigated a few weeks ago, and ended up losing hundreds of dollars of food and mattresses due to the company not reviewing the terms and agreements with packaging properly. The negligence of not communicating these requirements to an elderly person was not appropriate. Working as a Registered Nurse it's important to communicate discharge instructions, we don't expect patients to know how to take medications properly without educating them. Please Remember a company that threatens with legal suits shouldn't be in business, it's our constitutional right to have freedom of speech with truthful reviews. Chris Luce has fumigated two of my properties, and I have been very pleased with the job both times. This last job was a particular challenge, since my tenants were not eager to do the preparations for the tenting, and were somewhat uncooperative. Michelle in the office showed flexibility in re-scheduling and was very patient in getting all the paperwork and compliance issues handled in time for the tenting to be completed as scheduled. I called three Fumigation companies to get quotes, all from Angies List to perform a fumigation on my rental unit in Los Angeles. One didn't bother calling me back, and the other one was literally double the price of Surf City. I was shocked. I did a bit more research on this company off of the Angies List site, and decided to go ahead and give them the job. I was not present when they did the tenting, but they were very prompt and thorough, and definitely did the job. How do I know when I wasn't there?
