Once the project started they were professional from the sales team to each crew that came by along the way. Our superintendent was communicative and professional with us to keep the job rolling. The pool was built in 1957 and they had fiberglass in the pool and it had separated from the plaster underneath. He gave an estimate that was way below the others we received. His estimate included stone work and a waterfall. He?s very accommodating. They put in a hose bin so nobody would trip over it, and made adjustments to it to accommodate my disability. He also solved a moisture problem we were experiencing in our home. He knew we didn't have enough drains just by looking. Go with Swimtech, Inc. if you want your job done RIGHT! Rick was outstanding. He is the owner of the company, but did the electrical on the entire project. He was on-site nearly every day, overseeing and working. Rick was positive, professional, kind, and kept his cool, even when we ran in to MULTIPLE problems due to the previously-existing pool. He responded to all of my many questions and concerns in a timely manner and was wonderful to work with. He takes a great deal of pride in his work and does not compromise quality just to "get it done". The project was started on time and completed ahead of schedule, even with all of the problems that were encountered (none of which were caused by Rick). The original estimate was around $52,000, but we ended up spending more to correct the issues we ran across (drainage retrofit, gas line retrofit, permitting unpermitted structures, demo of unpermitted structure, etc.). While the estimate was higher than those we got from other companies, my husband and I could not be happier that we went with Swimtech, Inc. for our pool. Everything was done RIGHT! All the previously slapped-together work from other projects was fixed and made RIGHT! And the final result has been very much worth the cost. The pool, spa, and deck are amazingly beautiful! The materials used are of the highest quality and the workmanship of the tile, brickwork, and cement are unmatched. Rick provided additional touches free of charge just because he wanted to make sure that we got the best possible pool in the end. I feel we have. It is exactly what we were hoping for: very large and deep to accommodate growing (and rambunctious) boys and their friends, gorgeous spa with user-friendly controls and entry, flawless cement decking with decorative brick edging, and excellent use of the space to get the most out of our yard. We were in the middle of planning a major pool/backyard renovation when my wife got a coupon to sign up for Angie's List. She thought it might be good to use as a referral source for the work. I already had some referrals but she talked me into trying Angie's List. When we looked for pool contractors Aqua Care had such great scores and reviews we thought we had to call them. Like a lot of other people have written, once we met Irit and Raul during the initial discussion we felt very comfortable with them. We were unsure of exactly what we were going to do and what we could afford so we asked Irit to itemize everything we thought we might want to do so we could see what we could afford. She was very comprehensive and the initial prices were competitive (they were average not too high and not the lowest - however like other reviews state, you get more than you pay for so don't be pennywise/pound foolish and chose another contractor because they are cheaper). We are probably not ideal customers because we don't make up our minds easily and weren't sure what we wanted to do. Irit was very patient with us. Many times she would be politely forceful in trying to steer us to strongly consider something that I didn't want to do but later became convinced we should do it (an example was the drainage system which I didn't want to add to the deck only to the house gutters). Both she and Raul treat the project like they are doing it to their own home and want you to have the best they can do. When we eventually went off script and chose to put artificial grass completely around the pool she was able to easily work with us and the grass installer to make it work.As other reviews mention, Irit and Raul are a great team that perfectly compliment each other. Raul's dedication and skill to the construction and pool was very appreciated. I am an engineer and a perfectionist and I watched the process happen every day. I would talk with Raul every day and ask questions or voice concerns. He would answer all my questions, explain why I didn't need to be concerned, or fix something that might be a little off (happened only once and I'm pretty sure Raul would have fixed it if I didn't say anything I just beat him to it). I watched all the construction happen and I am very satisfied with the quality of the work done. I don't believe we could have gotten better quality no matter who we used. I've only found 2-3 areas that aren't perfect in the poured areas and I won't even list them because me wife will never see them - and you would never see them. I mention this because Aqua Care uses StoneScape not Pebble-Tec brand. If you look up StoneScape and Pebble-Tec you see people complain about things not being right and working with the company to fix them. Our StoneScape is great. We have no complaints. After all the quotes and discussions to finally decide on what to do, I feel we got a very fair price. In addition, I feel that they did not nickel and dime us once we started work. I believe I got hundreds of dollars worth of additional work done that they did not charge me for. Many little things came up that were just taken care of. ***One thing I will note is that anytime you are doing major renovations you should plan on having issues pop up. As we started getting into things we found some issues (like needing a well and sump-pump) that increased the cost. We were prepared for that and Irit and Raul did a great job of talking us through options. Many times the cost was not agreed upon before the work was done but I always felt the final price was fair. In dealing with Aqua Care I always felt the price was either fair or a good deal for me. We are extremely happy with our pool and hardscape around the pool.
