We had what we thought were bats hanging around our front door. We had bought something from Lowes that was supposed to help keep birds and bats away. When Vince came out, he actually confirmed that it was birds that were the problem, not bats. Not well. I submitted the following online to Western: .................... I am writing to complain. I made an appointment with you today. I need help removing bats that are making entry into our house. Your staff told me Thursday between 9:00am and 3:00pm were available. I accepted, but requested that we meet before noon because I had an important meeting in the afternoon. I was told they would make a note of it and your technician, Jesse, would contact me to let me know when he would be arriving 30 minutes ahead. This morning, no calls from Jesse, so I contacted you and was told he would arrive between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Not what I had hoped for but I waited anyway. At 2:00pm there was no contact from you at all, and had to leave for work. At 2:25pm Jesse called to let me know he was running late but would arrive sometime today. I told Jesse (and am telling you) that we were done. I will find someone else to perform these services. Everyone is busy, and schedules are difficult to keep, but there is no excuse for not communicating with the customer and assuming they will sit around all day waiting, no matter when the appointment is scheduled. We had a bat flying around in our 2nd floor bedroom, which got hit by the fan and died (fortunately no bloody mess). I took the bat with a glove and double bagged it and put in near the trash. We bought a 60 year old house near the beach with a large yet very narrow attic - and the attic had never been touched after it was built. I looked and wasn't happy with what I saw - shreds of old insulation, old construction materials, and shall we say a lot of evidence of pests. We'd brought in pest control companies who set traps but did little else. We needed the old insulation removed, any pests removed, pest access points plugged, and new insulation placed. Ron J (AtticGuys) arrived on time, performed a very thorough inspection, and a very detailed quote. It was competitive in both time and cost, but we were really impressed by the focus of the company - just attic cleaning. The clean-up team arrived on time and proceeded to first get a sense of the job, install the plastic insulation barriers, gown-up, and get to work. And hard work it was - 2 days of cleaning, 1 day of insulation. The team worked very hard, removed perhaps 2 truckloads of debris (and yes, that pest evidence), and kept us informed of progress. They hit road bumps - three times the equipment broke down, requiring a delay as replacements were brought; they needed wait for 'small guys' to hit all corners of the attic (they were originally noted for our home but somehow assigned elsewhere) - but they continued to work hard. The road bumps required them to spend an entire extra day (it was estimated 2-3, ended up requiring 4). A job like this results in damaged ceilings (unavoidable - don't let anyone tell you otherwise), but it was relatively minimal - perhaps 6 ceiling cracks and 6 cracks in the plaster around ceiling lights - and they did a very good job in repair, patching, sanding, painting (be sure you have a spare can of ceiling paint). They also found and plugged access points to the attic. In short, these guys know what they are doing - they only do attic cleanup, and they are good at it. Be wary of the pest control companies bidding on this - they know pests, but there's a whole lot more to attic cleanup than setting traps, and experience counts. - Overall: A - Main phone: A (always someone there, live, to answer phone, answer questions) - Appraiser: A (Ron rocked it) - Clean-up Team: A++ (professional, focused, committed, hard working, can't say enough for these guys) - Logistics: C (equipment breakdown; special staff availability; negotiations required to have clean-up team remain on site for repairs, rather than coming back later) (it was the the the cleanup team made it work regardless that made it workshow more

First I had Truly Nolan out they didn't know what kind of termites they were so took a sample to their lab. After several days they called back and said they were dry-rot termites and would have to tent the house for $4,200 plus any roof and plant damage. Decided to get a second opinion, sure glad I did! I have regular maintenance from them, they're very responsive, and will even get bats out of my attic. Ceaser comes, if I call up and tell them I hear noises in my attic, he comes. He has been my tech 25 years, if I'm not here, I can leave the door open for him. The guy that did the original estimate under estimated the amount of work. The house was built in 1917 and the mouse droppings and insulation could well have been that old. The low pitch roof made it almost impossible to move around in the attic, but the workers that came would not quit until the attic was near perfect. The nails, gravel, oak leaves, acorns, and mouse feces kept plugging the vacuum hose mixed in with the old blown in insulation. After about 6 hours they completed the vacuuming and had removed all the old A/C ducting out. It was nearly 100 degrees out, but they never stopped. Needless to say, by the time they started installing the batting, it was time for them to quit. The company compensated for the inconvenience of needing an extra day by blowing in insulation into all the tight spots that batting wouldn't fit. My only gripe is that they used insulate foam to fill opening to the house (not aesthetically pleasing). I'm not sure if I over payed, but as I watched them work, I kept thinking, "Thank God that's not me up there doing that work". The few places I called to insulate the attic would not do the clean up. They seemed to be nice. They did two inspections and the price was about $300, but that doesn't include what they suggested we do. There are some damages that need to be corrected, but we haven't done that yet. We don't have termites, but we have some wood rot. They do a full home inspection both exterior and interior for any kind of termite and pest control. They sent me a 10 page report for pest and organism inspection. That was like $100 and then there was the service cost. We had some sort of a little thing, which wasn't a big deal. I think it was a bat or a little mouse. So, they came out three times for that. They have now put a trap out there. That was only $165. They didn't give me any trouble when I called them back when their first spraying didn't work. They came right back when I called them. So, they stand behind what they tell you. They follow up with you well and make sure that you are happy with the job. My overall experience with them has been excellent. The Stealth team were very professional, courteous, and efficient, taking care of the issue swiftly and thouroughly. I was very pleased with the outcome, and happy to have this unknown problem, revealed and removed. This is the kind of issue that one doesn't want to bring a lot of neighborhood attention to, and Stealth really lives up to their name with their approach and course of action. The problem was resolved quickly and completely, and they will be returning to do a thorough clean up and sanitization within our attic, to restore our home as it was prior to these latest, 'unwanted houseguests'. They sent Cesar, the general manager, out to meet us for the assessment and quote for the work that was needed. He instilled a sense of trust and honesty immediately. We had originally had Terminix come out and give a quote. They said we had to tent the house right off the bat. Cesar told us that their company could do a local treatment for the trouble areas. They offered 3 levels of treatment ranging from the most economic to the more aggressive treatment. We opted for the highest level. They sprayed our entire attic and all garage wood with the chemicals, they even cleaned the termite droppings. They also drilled holes and injected chemical on the outside of the house to deal with the subterranean termites attacking our patio. Cesar also pointed out the damaged wood in our rafters, patio and main beams and advised that we could either have a private contractor repair the damage or their company could do the work. We opted to have no-nonsense termite co perform the work. We wanted it done, right. The outcome exceeded our expectations. Our new front wood beam looks great along with all the other repairs we requested!! The best thing was the communication back and forth with this company. They were straight forward, and told us what needed to be done and gave us options. The "other" company didn't give us any options at all and did not offer repair of any of the damaged wood. We basically had one and only one option. We didn't like that very much. They were not very thorough, nor did they explain their findings whereas no-nonsense termite company explained everything in details we could understand. I would highly recommend this company and we plan on renewing our warranty once the year is up. They have a $200 termite control offer for Angie's list members which we plan on continuing with once our 1 year warranty is up. We greatly appreciate the work and the service received by Cesar and Ramon. They're truly professional and great at what they do. I couldn't boast and commend them for all of their work. They're great people in my book. Keep in mind that this is a family owned business, so the customer service is definitely there. They were professional from the beginning to the end.
