THE COMPUTER MAN

After speaking on the phone to another computer repair shop, based on my description of what had occurred, I was given very little hope of retrieving any data and any attempts could cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. After this I attempted my own recovery and was able to retrieve a few pieces of data before the hard drive crashed again and I was no longer able to detect the hard drive from any computer. I had given up all hope until a friend recommended I contact Michael. I sent him an email late on a Saturday knowing he was not open until Monday because I was so distraught over losing two years worth of pictures. Michael responded to my email on Sunday! He said that while he was concerned that the hard drive might really be lost, he really wanted to take a look at it and see what he could do. He called first thing Monday morning and was at my house around 10 am to pick up the drive to take back to his shop. My first impression of Michael was that he truly cared. He was realistic about my chances but he said sometime if you just poke it enough it will give you one last shot at retrieval. He called the next day with fantastic news, he was in the process of recovering my data! He said he had tried a few times the night before with no results but he wanted to give it a few more tries before he gave up and it worked! Two days after that Michael returned to my house with a back up drive with all my data! A testament to Michael's character is that, because I had been so upset, I forgot to even discuss a price with him when we spoke and he took my hard drive. Michael had my data retrieved and in his hands before I even thought to ask. He could have said anything at this point....he had my pictures. When he said it would be $136, I knew what I thought about him was true, he is an excellent computer person and an even better soul! Thank you Michael!
