Fantastic! Patrick Pearson, our salesman, showed us several types of roofing that he recommended, and we chose a DaVinci roof, which was beautiful. The work was completed in 3.5 days without a glitch. Patrick has a dedicated crew of 8, all of whom worked very hard and very well together. (The same crew has been with Patrick for 8 years.) They also assigned a quality control person who regularly checked with us and kept a close eye on the work. The result is amazing! My husband and I agree that we've NEVER had such great customer service. During the work, a couple of people came by to get Patrick's contact information; one of them said they had been watching how well the crew worked together and were very impressed.

Work started in February and completed in Mar. Hold up was strictly due to all the rain we had, but they took advantage of any openings to continue to completion. The teams that worked on our house were great and Bruce and his team took all the time we needed to answer questions and responded quickly. After installation noticed a window stress fracture and it was repaired by (Pella) quickly. In June had a couple of adjustments that needed to be made to flashing and it was handled without a fuss. I would recommend Scott Exteriors to anyone thinking of have work like this done. I have no complaints and will definitely use them for future projects.

Lesson learned the hard way: It's almost been a year since the big storm that hit parts of the Dallas area on 6/9/19. Straight line winds hit up to 85 mph in some areas. One area hit hard was our neighborhood in Lake Highlands. As clean up began the next day, it was evident that every house on our street was going to need a new roof. The door knockers offering discounts for new roofs were out in full force. One got my neighbor and I was invited over to the conversation. The next thing you know, paperwork was signed and a new roof was completed. Fast forward almost one year later: After the rainy season this spring began, I started noticing leaks appearing on the inside of our home. Instead of going back to the 'door knocker', I called up Scott Exteriors. A local Lake Highlands roofing company. The owner, Kirk Scott showed up the next day. After examining the work that had been done, it has been determined NONE of the flashing around all of our exhaust fans on the roof had been flashed correctly. Furthermore, the gutters were not hung correctly which has already caused water damage in the form of wood rot. The next day Scott Exteriors solved all of our problems with the roof. I can not recommend Scott Exterior's enough for all of your roofing needs. Get it done right the first time, and you will save thousands down the road. They did an excellent job in repairing it. They were efficient, tidy, and pleasant. We would highly recommend them and we would definitely hire them again.

Fabulous! This was our 3rd roof replacement due to hail, and the first roofing contractor we would use again (and we would not hesitate). (The first two were just awful). We were very slow to execute due to extenuating circumstances (other life events happen). When we circled back with them ... they were just as engaged as with our first contact. (I imagine some contractors would not give us the time of day with such a delay). What did they do that was so good? They listened to our concerns ... and acted accordingly. Both our sales person (Justin) and the crew foreman (Alex) were just great. They communicated throughout the process. They were prompt, timey and courteous. And the crew did not beat up our property like prior roofing contractors did.

The group that came was very thorough during the process and cleaned up after.

Excellent. All work completed as agreed to and on time. This is the third time I've used them, but this was by far the biggest project. They provide high quality work/outcomes and are very customer oriented. Crew is competent and hardworking. Good job with clean up also. Their prices are competitive and commensurate with the work done. I would hire them again.

Never before have we had such a horrible experience with a contractor company. We went with Scott Exteriors based on our realtor’s referral—never again. I wish we had picked a good company. We were promised in our quote that the landscape and premises would be protected. We still, however, wrote an email ahead of time asking that everything be really well protected since we have children playing in the yard. We even offered over the phone to put out our own tarps, but we were told everything would be covered. Not a single covering or tarp, though, was laid down as thousands of pieces of asphalt, rusty nails, roofing shingles (often in tiny pieces), and old staples were hurled down directly on our newly planted bushes and grass (see photos below), as well as our daughter’s play area. For weeks we have been combing the area only to find that we will never be able to pick up all of the little pieces. Instead of being apologetic, Patrick changed his story and literally said to me, “It’s a construction site” as the reason we were forced to deal with thousands of old rusty nails and debris that damaged our garage door, security camera, bushes, pavers and left our yard unusable for children. NO, Scott Exteriors, this is not any old “construction site;” this is our home, and you promised to take care of it as such. This company is full of the most arrogant, corrupt, and rude people you will meet. The main portion of the work was at first sloppily done in one day with large materials left in our driveway and backyard for days afterwards which we had to call and ask to be removed. It then turned out they punctured a gas line (which required the removal of a closet ceiling drywall to get to), shoddily touched up the marks left by them on our siding with mismatched paint, left large grease spots and scratches in the driveway, left asphalt marks on the pavers and all over the facade, and only replaced HALF of the vents & caps they promised. It then took two weeks (yes two more weeks) to have one piece of sheet metal installed even though we were informed of the corrected dimensions (they should have measured correctly before the project) right after the initial install. We are still missing flue caps and are having to fight for each little thing with the most arrogant people in the world. The workers who have seen the site all tell us readily that our flue caps are original, but we got an email from Patrick stating they were all replaced. What?! You can see that they left old vents and caps and left our chimney open and exposed for two weeks for a new chase cover. They act like you should be thankful for their shoddy efforts (such as the fact they painted over their own damage on our recently painted siding with ugly, mud-matched paint (see photos) that left huge blotches or the fact they spent a few minutes coming back with the same inadequate magnet to pick up a few nails when the truth is the nails should have fallen on tarps to begin with). Never again. We want our home back.

Very professional. Work performed met expectations. Returned to check quality of work after completion. Communication with staff for scheduling and getting an estimate was very comfortable. Workers were kind and patient. Other companies contacted were not interested in doing a smaller job, but Scott Exteriors was happy to do the job.

The representative came by and determined since our roof was aluminum they did not do repairs on that type of roofing. He said when he returned to the office he would send me an e-mail with the name of a local roofer who he knew did work on aluminum roof. He did follow up.

Scott Exteriors did an excellent job with our windows. One plus for us was that the windows are made locally instead of out of state. The windows are good quality and reasonably priced. There was one snafu in the ordering process which was rectified quickly and professionally. Communication with our salesperson was excellent while the installation team worked quickly and efficiently. I would use their services again and recommend them to anyone

Did nice job. No problems. Stand by their work. Have used before for leak involving a flashing around chimney. They did the work right where others had failed.

Went smooth in the general for work performed. Communication was a problem and could have led to confusion. Paid the first half on time. For second part of the payment, there was no communication as they were waiting for some city permit check from insurance company. During that time, since it was more than a month, I called myself and was suggested to wait till insurance clears up. Later one day suddenly this guy Justin called up and started with statement if I dont pay, they will put a lien on the property. Obviously they did not keep track of the past communication and thought that I am not paying. It was rude but not serious and I think once explained, he understood his mistake. That was at least done respectfully. Last but not least is that I am still waiting for warranty certificate after a month of payment and them emailing me that certificate is already out. Sent an email but no response so far. In short, apart from a few hiccups I will still recommend or hire them because work was done properly and having some experience with contractors, it was not bad. But that may change if I dont get my certificate.

It took about two days for the roofing to be completed. They cleaned up fine. The only thing that I would say is they did have to come back because they didn't replace a part of a paneling that I wanted them to. They came out and fixed it.

I could write a book about dealing with this company, the title might be "good sales pitch incompetent execution". We started the project in mid February and the final piece was completed mid July. This was due to: 1. Tear down and rebuild when I hired ($500 cost) a building consultant who tested and found leaks after they were supposedly done, he also discovered rotted wood which was covered up. 2. Damage to flooring, blinds and bushes requiring other contractors to fix. 3. Delays re-ordering windows that were either mis-measured or manufactured wrong. Eventually they responded and fixed most items, although flooring will never be the same, but it took a letter to the company president to get things resolved.We are ending the relationship with a billing dispute as the office says one thing and the project manager another. Reviews on Angie's reviews were mostly stellar which was the main reason I hired them and I struggle with what went wrong. I have concluded that our work was not average and in some ways complex which they are not built to deal with. Supervision and training seem inadequate and frankly every time they came out we waited anxiously to see what they were going to break. Certainly they lost money on this job as our home was in chaos for 5 months but any loss was clearly due to their errors and poor workmanship. Finally, don't even get me started on cleaning up after the work day which we pretty much did ourselves.

Very pleased with the phone, email, and personal contacts. The roof after the work was finished looked very nice. I would diffidently recommend their work to others. Earl

It went great! I was soliciting bids for replacing my hail-damaged roof and choose Scott Exteriors from Angieslist because if its great rating. Although Scott Exteriors was not selected to do the work, the services provided by the Patrick, Karen, Sue and the company in general was great, and worthy of making note of. I requested a quote by the web site and immediately got a response from Karen setting up a time for Patrick Pearson to come out and look at the job. Sue was most helpful in answering various questions about the company's backlog and how projects are managed. Patrick arrived as scheduled and took down all the details to work up a quote. Admittedly my original requirements was not routine with requirements for a radiant barrier underlayment, special considerations on installing the turbo vents along with insurance requirements. Scott worked up a detail estimate addressing most all of the requirements which I greatly appreciated. It took a while to get it but I later found out that Scott's wife had a procedure done and he was out for a few days. The radiant barrier underlayment requirement required some additional back and forth but eventually Patrick delivered me an estimate for what I wanted. Although, I chose another Angieslist rated roofing contractor primarily due to cost, I greatly appreciated the fine service I received from Scott Exteriors which I expect would have been reflected in the actual work too. If you need roofing work done, consider Scott Exteriors.

We're probably going to have them do the work but we just haven't scheduled it yet.

These guys are wonderful! On time, neat, professional. It was a pleasure.

They were extremely prompt in communicating. Very upfront and honest about the skylight and how that would work with them. Very professional. Came on time and worked quickly. They finished up and did a good job. They checked back several times to make sure there were no problems.

Never heard from them. Can't really say if I would hire again?

We had roof contracts on 8 houses. I've got $100,000 worth of roofs and I get an email from the guy that he's just not going to do them. We met with him in person. We had the insurance paper work. We went through what insurance was going to do and what Scott Exteriors were going to do. Everything was fine. He came back and wanted another $10,000 spread over all the houses. Then I got a note from him that said he wasn't going to do any of it.

I haven't pursued anything with anyone. There was no cost. Everybody I've gotten from Angie's List I would give an A to. I had other issues come up that has kept me from going forward with my project.
