Craftsmanship and quality of work are alive and well in Schaumburg, thanks to Quest Flooring. Jim Olmstead and son recently installed new laminate flooring on our first floor. It all started when Jim dropped off over 400 square foot of flooring to acclimate to the environment in the house. After a couple of days Jim came and set up his equipment in the garage. Tear off took longer than expected, but you have to remember this is a small business so this was not a problem for us. After tear off came the job of determining how level the floor was. Well, In a house that is 40 years old you are sure to run into problems and Jim did, but he spent the necessary time and effort to make sure everything was level. Now it was time for installation of the new flooring. The old saying measure twice and cut once really came into use. We cannot say enough about the quality this man puts into his work. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. The time and care he took to make it look as good as it does was really impressive. I also appreciate the level of communication. At the end of each day he would advise us as to the time they would be over and what we could expect to be accomplished that day. They also cleaned up at the end of the work day. Hire again? Without a doubt!!

Fantastic. My floors are stunning. Jim is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. The time and care he took to make it look as good as it does was really impressive. I also appreciate the level of communication. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, and gave updates at the end of each day. He's great to work with, and has a good sense of humor. I would recommend Quest to anyone, and would absolutely them again.

Jamie did a great job, easy to communicate with and took the time to do a great job. I also used him in 2008 to replace all the flooring on my first floor, he tiled my laundry room and bathroom and it flowed really nice. No problems at all. I don't recall the price but it was very fair. I would use him again and recommend him.

Jim always worked for perfection. Great communication and good time estimates. Our floors presented many challenges. Jim took every challenge in stride, and achieved great results.

Jim and team did wonderful job for our new Bamboo flooring through out two story house. Attention to details, passionate about what they do, trust worthy and provide high quality outcome. Baseboard and shoe molding trim work is awesome too. Reasonably priced with no surprises. The stair nose I bought was not good and Jim went all the way to Elgin to get the right one. Amazing!!! You can rely on Quest flooring for your flooring needs. I highly recommend Quest flooring for your hardwood or laminate flooring.

Everything went smoothly. Jim installed ceramic tile and new trim in our basement which replaced carpeting that was in an area where we have a bar. It looks beautiful and is easy to keep clean. We replaced our ceramic tile and trim in our master bathroom because we had a leaky toilet that damaged the sub floor. Jim repaired the damaged sub floor and built a brace for the toilet which leaked because the home builder located the toilet in between studs with no support which after years of use caused the floor under the toilet to sag which caused a leak in the wax ring which in turn damaged the sub floor. The bathroom tile looks great and our toilet problem is fixed. We had Jim install ceramic tile in our laundry room because we bought a new front load washer and dryer and the vinyl floor that was in there did not allow the washer to be balanced which caused the washer to walk all over the place. The floor looks great and our washer stays in one place now. We decided on a distressed oak hardwood to replace the existing vinyl floor after seeing a similar floor that Jim installed at my boss' house. The floor starts in our foyer and runs to a bathroom and down a hallway to our kitchen and family room and continues down our basement steps.The floor is stunning! The new trim looks great.(Jim caulked all the trim on each job and put wood filler in all nail holes. We painted the trim.) and we get compliments from everyone who visits our house. The hardwood with white risers on our stairs looks awesome! Jim's company is a small operation so tear out and installation will take a little longer than some of the bigger flooring companies out there but it is worth it. Jim gave me a discount on the tear out because I was home and able to help. Jim has low overhead so he can usually come in at a lower price than his competitors. Jim described in detail what would be involved in each job and the approximate time needed. All work was completed on time and floors cleaned after installation and work area (Garage was where he was cutting boards, tile and trim) was cleaned up at job completion. Jim is a perfectionist and takes pride in his work! He is a true craftsman who performs the installation with care and precision. He cuts no corners and takes no short cuts. He genuinely cares about the customer and will address any concerns. I highly recommend Quest flooring. If he didn't do the high quality work that he does he would have not been used by us after the first job. (Which was the bathroom.) We were so pleased with his work that we used him for all of our flooring needs!
