    Just what I wanted, a good "all-around" pencil and 1.3mm is the only way to go for me because I guess I am a stress case. No eraser is by my choice since I don't like them grabbing on things or coming out, so make sure you may want one around somewhere. Otherwise, make your notes count like you would with a pen!

    I have both the silver pencil same brand and lead type..this one although performance wise it is the same aesthetically it is a huge disappointment! Looks cheap and is the color is like a transparent grey.

    I used this pencil daily for a couple of weeks before it stopped holding the lead tightly enough that I could write with my usual amount of writing pressure. I have owned many Staedtler pencils/lead holders and have never had this problem. I also own the all metal version of this pencil, which is my favorite day-to-day pencil. But I would not buy this incarnation again. Maybe I bought a lemon, but the plastic body feels flimsy in comparison to the all metal version, plus the performance proved inferior. If it held the lead as other models did, I could overlook the lightness of this model's build.

    I purchased two of these pencils in hopes of making my work easier. I do construction work and I do a lot of interior layout work so the bigger lead size comes in handy while writing on the walls and floors. Ive used Staedtler in the past while in school doing drafting class. I thought the quality was good back then so I decided to give them another try. Man was I VERY disappointed! Each one lasted a day only after I had to use tape to hold it together. Both broke in half right in front of the lead indicator. Cheap plastic is what they are made of. Don't waist your money on these. Spend more on a better quality pencil is what I'm doing. You might want to do the same.

    I am very disappointed, the mine can't old so the Pencil is basically unsuable.. I'm using some legit Staedtler 1.3 HB mines.... I don't know if my unit is deffective but its not a good buy for me :(
