UPDATE: I reordered the robe in my normal size (1X) and it is a PERFECT FIT and length so I upgrading to 5 stars.
Note on shedding: another reviewer suggested removing lint by running the new, unwashed robe through three (3) NO-HEAT dryer cycles and I thought I would report that process works very well to minimize shedding from the cotton chenille fabric. My thanks go out to the reviewer who suggested running the unwashed robe through the dryer using no-heat cycles to remove lint.
Then another reviewer stated that the red robe bled in the wash, so I will use a product called Synthrapol in the wash the first time to remove any excess dye which should keep it from bleeding. It will take several rinse cycles to remove all the excess dye. (Dye catcher sheets can be used to identify when the excess dye has fully rinsed out and then it's safe to dry the robe..)

Beautiful robe and wonderful quality cotton chenille! I normally wear a size 18W/1X and ordered size 2X in this robe to allow for some shrinkage since it's cotton. I am 5'8" tall and large chested but have a balanced shape - hip width matching shoulder width. I found the sleeves to be too long and the robe too large through the shoulders and despite the apparent roominess of the style the robe felt a little small through the hips. I think this is because of the thick chenille fabric was also used for the side pockets. I returned the robe because I was afraid if it shrunk at all it might not fit nicely over my Lanz of Salzburg cotton flannel nightgowns.
The thickness of the fabric would be wonderful for New England winters but I am afraid to reorder a size up because the sleeve length would most likely be even longer. Also, the length of the robe I received was much shorter on me that what is shown in the image online. The length hit mid-calf on me - shorter than my flannel nightgowns.
