    This does exactly what I was hoping it would. I actually leave it plugged in most the time, as it's stationary, but the design is really slick. Since it's held by a magnet, I have used really strong (3M) sticky tape to attach the base, and then can de-tatch as needed when I want to.

    I use this on my desk, and I have two rows of monitors, so I've attached it under one of the top ones. It can also be held at an angle, so, despite it being about 30 inches above my desk, it works great for reading things when my room is dark or even brighter than the light the monitors provide.

    It's become a welcome addition to my desk setup.

    We placed this under our stairs where there is no light. It's PERFECT! The fact you can adjust the angle makes it exactly right for where we put it. We mounted it above the door and it aim down along the line of the stairs so it lights the whole area!

    Being cordless and rechargeable is great since we don't have power under the stairs, but also it doesn't burn through batteries. When we go out camping, we grab it (since it detaches magnetically) and throw it in one of the mesh pockets in our tent for great evening illumination. Since it is dimmable, it can be adjusted as needed!

    The ONLY thing I don't like about it is it can be hard to see where the power button is, but that is fixable, and eventually I've gotten used to it, so I don't consider it a bad thing.
