- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2017Pattern Name: AdapterVerified PurchaseI bought a second one since the first one did so well. Not only do I get fast speeds, I get fast speeds from further out than that of my TrendNet TEW-624UB. Not to say the TrendNet adapter is not great, because it is, especially for Ubuntu/Fedora, but in terms of raw download and upload speeds for my school work and video uploads, this AC600 from EDUP gives 30% more speeds as it is able to pick up the signal at this distance much better and I stay connected; sometimes with the TrendNet I lose connection, especially when a lot of kids are running around in the living room. Both, however are plug and play. I run Windows 10 Professional 64-bit and it recognizes it in Device Manager and installs all applicable drivers in about two minutes from insertion. It works... and it works well.
The instructions are better than the first one, but still needs some work, mostly for the smiley face cardboard handout they send; the English is so bad, you can barely read the 'Thank you!' message they wish to convey.
I have no complaints in terms of functionality. It's plug-and-play, picks up a stronger, more stable signal and doesn't lag out when lots of traffic tries to interfere with the signal reaching my PC. And it looks sleek and doesn't feel too cheap. For functionality: five stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2017Pattern Name: AdapterVerified PurchaseI have a mid-2009 Macbook Pro with El Capitan installed on it. Being an older laptop, my laptop wi-fi card conked out, and since I didn't want to spend another $1500 or so on a new Macbook, I started looking at Wi-Fi adapters as a temporary solution. I tried about 4 different ones, and had to return them all with the exact same problem. I live in a townhouse. My internet modem and wireless router are on the second floor in the living room, and my bedroom is on the top floor. The other adapters just would not catch the wi-fi whether it was the 2.4 GHz band or the 5 GHz band, or if they did catch the signal it would be so sporadic that it would be a nuisance to do anything on the laptop in my bedroom.
Enter this little guy, and my problems have been solved. It's been a little over two months now, and I have had absolutely no problems with this device. It sees both bands properly, connects beautifully to both bands and works flawlessly. Installation of the drivers was a breeze (I downloaded them from the internet since I don't have one of those little CD drives that will fit the driver install CD that comes with the package). The only drawback of this device (and it's quite minor in my opinion) is the bright blue blinking light that indicates it's connected to the wi-fi. In most cases, it's most helpful to have the indication, but if you're sitting in a dark room or a lowly lit room, the blinking light can be blinding and quite a distraction considering it blinks rapidly and you can see the rapid blinking out of the corner of your eye. However, I simply put a piece of black electrical insulation tape over the blinking part, and now the nuisance is gone.
Well worth the money, I'd happily recommend it to others for use.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2018Pattern Name: AdapterVerified PurchaseIf you want a TL;DR- If you're suffering from a congested WiFi network and as a result- slow speeds or high latencies- this is your solution. It's an amazing little product backed with stellar customer support.
Now then, onto my long, rambly pitch on why I absolutely love this thing.
I work at a 70,000 student strong university and am using a laptop with a built in RTL8723BE. When you have hundreds of people connected to the same network; your machine's fighting to prioritize itself over the others, and struggling to ping your router with all the interference around- and this led to buffering in playing even 240P YouTube videos, and frequent disconnects when playing multiplayer games.
Then, I got this. I simply plugged it in, Windows downloaded the drivers, and I was good to go; and from the very beginning, you can tell the difference. (be sure to use WiFi 2 in Windows by the way and disconnect your connection through WiFi 1 which is your computers default network adapter). I was able to stream in 1080p during lunctime, and pings went down to the mid 100s. Let me put this into perspective- this puppy has better range and connectivity than the networking solutions found in Alienwares (compared ranges with my colleagues machine), and actually somehow prioritizes your workload over theirs (colleague experienced slower speeds when I was downloading). If you're looking for WiFi cards to use instead of your probably horrid (like mine) internal cards- I STRONGLY recommend this.
And aside from being a great product- it's customer service team is impeccable too. One of the drawbacks of this adapter is if you're using it on your laptop, it tends to dangle off from whichever side you're using it. As I was leaving my room, I wound up slamming it against my door by mistake, snapping the USB port off from the rest of the module; I contacted EDUP's customer service team with a picture of it, and they sent me a new one for free! I haven't seen this kind of attention to customer care outside of Anker and Sennheiser- and they've definitely inspired confidence in me recommending their products to fellow colleagues and friends; so if you're worried about a lack of this on the basis of it being a Chinese brand- don't. They actually have a competent customer service team that will take care of you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fácil de colocar.

5.0 out of 5 stars instructions are written in some pretty broken English
Pattern Name: AdapterVerified Purchasesimple installation, instructions are written in some pretty broken English, but the pictures help.
Other than the manual, the product runs relatively well, so I'm giving it 5 stars.
