    I have bought two of these from Amazon UK, July 2018 and October 2019. One from HMV (replaced) and every one has had a coloured stripe running down the right hand side of the picture. So have now bought one in Region 1 from Amazon US and it plays perfectly. DreamWorks, get your act together.

    What can I say about the film that hasn't already been said? Not much that would do it the justice it richly deserves I'm afraid. All I can do is recommend it to anyone who by some miracle hasn't been forced by their friends to watch it yet. The plot is believable, at least as far as cartoon plots involving talking donkeys and mercenary moggies can be believable, but it's the details in which Shrek 2 really excels. The little background stuff you might not really pay attention to the first time round but makes the film more and more watchable each time, for example the shop names in Far Far Away, the 'Love Potion Number IX' and so much more. My one and only quibble with the film in this format and the reason I couldn't quite bring myself to give it full marks is Doris, the ugly stepsister. One of my favourite jokes/characters in the film, a genuine highlight of the film for me is her first conversation with the king. So when I first sat down to watch the DVD after it had arrived I must have been leaning forward in my seat waiting for it when, at the moment of truth, I found my silly anticipatory grin wiped away and replaced by disbelief at the sound of Jonathon Ross's voice where Larry King's should have been. It honestly spoilt my enjoyment of the film by no small amount as I sat furiously puzzling over why oh god why would they put his voice in there?! I notice that the 2 disc edition has an 'international star dubbing featurette' which no doubt explains why they thought it was such a good idea but I don't imagine that any expanation could fully cover Jonathon Ross's involvement. Fwankly, his voice just doesn't seem to convey the right image to me. But maybe that's just me. So the point of my rant? Great film but if you're going to buy the English version DVD, get the 2 disc-er to hopefully see the original dub or if you've got a multi-region player just go for the American version and you definitely won't be disappointed.

    Excellent family entertainment, good follow up to the first film. Got it for under £4 which was well worth it! All the original voices are in it, plus new characters. Jennifer Saunders steals the show as the fairy godmother! They've animated her really well and her signing bonnie Tyler's holding out for hero is very impressive!

    Brilliant ! Both of my grandsons aged 3 and 4, absolutely love it . They both have this DVD at home and one at nannies house. Definitely a favourite. Great movie ! And getting them to sit and chill for a while gives nannie a rest , which is an added bonus. .

    The general rule of 'steer clear of sequels' can be safely ignored here, as this is even better than the original Shrek. And, as it's on DVD, there's none of that pretending you're with a child business involved!

    This is our THIRD copy, thanks to our toddler's 'delicate' way with DVDs, so thank God for the 2nd hand sellers on Amazon!

    This is the best animated movie of all time. Way better than the first one. The cast is star studded and the movie and TV references are brilliant.
    Puss in Boots steals the show, but every character has their moments.
    Spotting the actors was entertaining in itself and spotting the references (like John Cleese holding his leg and referring to the old wound when hiding something from his wife - Fawlty Tower style). I really could go on for days about this, so instead I'll just keep it short and say, if you want extremely funny, yet clean (wow!) this is the film to see.
    Not just for kids. Infact, I really didn't think of it as a kids movie.
