We ended up buying several of these figurines—one for our child and two more as gifts based on his recommendation. Overall, they look great, but we did notice a couple of things worth sharing: The paint job is inconsistent from one figurine to the next, and the quality of the paintjob is questionable. For example, unlike a few dozen Schleich dinosaurs our child owns, which have a consistent and high-quality finish, the Bajadasaurus has already shown signs of fading after just a few months, which included washing it under tap, following outdoor play.
This may be an isolated incident, but it raises concerns about the direction of Schleich’s quality control. We’ve noticed a slight decline in workmanship and the size of the figurines in the past few years.
Nonetheless, our child enjoys all of the them anyway. (although we hope to see improvements in future releases).
