Great for the price, instructions were easy to follow and I had no missing parts, I was fearful I would have missing parts because of Mega's history of having missing parts but I was surprised yet happy I had none.It has a nice box that's easy to open and not too cluttered up with junk so you can see the Warthog in all its glory and the figures that come with it.Bags are number sorted so you don't have to open up all the bags at once to build the set, definitely a good choice by Mega.My only nitpick is that it wasn't shipped in any form of external packaging so the box art got all cluttered with shipping stickers that are going to be a PAIN to remove.

    Until now, I have been a fairly snobbish collector of Lego brand sets. If it wasn't Lego brand, I didn't want it. I decided to try this set out after I bought one of the Mega Construx Halo Figurines on an impulse while looking at Lego Minifigs. I was impressed by the quality and the detail on the figure, so I found this set and decided to try it out. The build was fun, and easy. The instructions were, for the most part, on-par with Lego instructions, and quite intuitive. The whole set, in general, feels well-engineered and thought-out for both play, and display.

    The set has tons of playability; as much, if not more-so than Lego sets, because the figures have far more range-of-motion than Lego Minifigs. Also as a model, this looks fantastic as a display piece (seriously, the pictures on the box and online give the whole set very little credit for how freaking cool it looks and feels in real-life).

    One of my favorite things about this set, is it just feels like I got a lot for my money. The figures look super cool (the hand-painted elements are surprisingly well-done), and are fun to play with; they feel like they have a lot more depth than Lego Minifigs, and are less cartoonish (I LOVE Lego Minifigs, but these figures are just more functional and playable than Lego Minifigs). And there are four of them (this is a big deal, because usually to get that many specialized Lego Minifigs, you would be at a much higher price-point. Overall, if I'm looking at it from a "bang-for-my-buck" perspective, I feel like I'm getting a lot more value than I'm used to, without sacrificing any quality.

    After buying this, and looking at other sets that are similar, what I like about Mega Construx is that while it has similarities to Lego, it doesn't pretend to try to BE Lego. That said, nearly everything is fairly compatible (especially the Minifig accessories) with Lego brand bricks, which makes it fun and easy to incorporate with Lego play.

    Bottom-line, if you're thinking about buying this set, just do it. The fact that I'm writing a review at all should tell you that it's worth it. All around, I have completely changed my mind about only collecting Lego sets, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for Mega Construx: They certainly have done far more than exceed every expectation I had for this brand. Bravo, and thank you for a much brighter Monday evening!

    I remember when Mega Construx did their first Halo line. Although the sets were far more basic back then, I had enjoyed them quite a lot- we had an arctic-coloured Warthog that I used to play with for hours. When I saw these newer sets, I had to get my hands on this new Warthog and it didn't disappoint! These new sets are much more sophisticated builds, but still very accessible. The gimmicks are great and non-intrusive- for this set, it's a working suspension- and they make for excellent display pieces.
