Consultations typically take the form of a 1-hour phone call, but can also encompass survey responses, longer-term advisory work, or board placements depending on the client need.
All administration is taken care of by the AlphaSights team, with payments processed via our platform in days. We make it easy for experts to share knowledge and power progress.

AlphaSights connects leading professionals with our blue-chip clients in a number of different ways.
AlphaSights calls are 30-60 minute telephone conversations with client professionals and may occasionally take place over video (e.g. Zoom). Calls are the most common way we work with experts.
Meetings take place in-person and enable experts to collaborate with client professionals in a more engaging and customized way. Your AlphaSights point of contact will confirm all the details with you in advance.
AlphaSights surveys are online questionnaires. They begin with screening questions to ensure that the topic is correctly suited to your experience, and typically take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
From time to time, clients partner with AlphaSights to identify senior executives with relevant experience who can help them on a longer term basis. These engagements can be specific to a particular investment opportunity or strategic problem, and may include in person meetings and/or site visits.
By invitation-only, AlphaSights offers selected senior executives a dedicated point of contact, filtered project requests and the potential for longer term opportunities with private equity.
AlphaCircles membership is reserved for leading PE-backable and C-suite executives, seeking to develop closer relationships with senior investment professionals and take their next career step.

No matter your professional background, your knowledge is unique and may be particularly helpful for our clients. The goal of our initial outreach is to introduce what we do over the phone and mutually determine whether there’s an opportunity to work together. Our clients are contractually required to treat any information we share with them (or you share with them during an interaction) confidential. They are prohibited from sharing your information with third parties or using it other than in connection with their specific project scope.

The majority of AlphaSights experts are currently in full-time employment and client interactions can fit easily and flexibly into a busy work schedule. Your participation is in a personal capacity and cannot be as a representative of your employer.

If you’d like to make changes to your profile, the best approach is to amend your professional networking profile and/or let us know when we next get in touch for a project. AlphaSights does not offer experts a platform login at this time.
How often your expertise is requested depends on dynamic client needs. Sometimes, you may receive multiple requests in a short space of time. Other times, there may be longer periods of inactivity. We will reach out when there is a suitable project for you.
We aim to keep interactions on the calendar as originally scheduled. However, our clients unfortunately have to reschedule or cancel occasionally due to calendar conflicts and changing priorities. We will let you know of such changes as soon as we can.

If you are eligible for monetary compensation, we'll pay you an agreed hourly rate on a pro-rata basis based on the time you spend interacting with our clients. AlphaSights' standard terms of payment are 30 days, but we always aim to compensate as quickly as possible. Upon completing the client interaction, you'll receive a secure payment link with easy instructions for bank transfer. US and Canada-based experts can opt for a check.
Experts in certain countries can also choose to receive an excellent bottle of Bordeaux sent straight to your door.
Alternatively, you can donate all or a portion of your fees to our chosen charity partner. If you’d like to donate to a charity of your choice, please opt for a cash payment and submit the charity payment yourself.
Payment processing will always be in line with our Terms of Payment, which are sent to you before any interaction.

AlphaSights is incorporated in the UK, so you should follow the tax rules in your country for income received from the UK. For this reason, we don’t issue 1099s to experts domiciled in the US.
