Connecting with people outside the Co‑Host Network can help you expand your co‑hosting business. You may be eligible to earn referral rewards when you invite hosts to work with you.

Marketing yourself

Consider a mix of online and in-person marketing to build a strong local presence. Some ideas to get you started:

  • Let your network know you’re available. Share your profile with friends, family, neighbours, and coworkers. Offer to help them list and host a property you think would do well on Airbnb.
  • Collaborate with your contractors. Ask your cleaners, landscapers, and maintenance crew if they work with hosts who are looking for help.
  • Attend community and virtual events. Expand your network by introducing yourself to homeowners, small businesses, and tourism leaders. Be prepared to explain your services in a few sentences.

Jimmy, a co-host in Palm Springs, California, says he’s found hosts “mainly just by word of mouth from my local area.” For example, he found two new properties to host through his pool cleaner.

Setting yourself apart

Consider tasks you could handle that other co-hosts might not take on. Some ideas to get you started:

  • Supply a checklist for new hosts. Give hosts guidance on amenities, cleaning tips, and important supplies to keep in stock.
  • Share your discounts with the host. Offer to make introductions if your relationships with service providers could save the host money on things like maintenance, landscaping, art, or home furnishings.
  • Put together a welcome kit for guests. You could include a handwritten note, basket of goodies, and printed house manual.
  • Create a guidebook for guests. Use your local knowledge to help hosts recommend places nearby to dine, shop, sightsee, and experience the outdoors. Add it to their listing and update it regularly.

Sending referrals and earning rewards

You can invite hosts to partner with you by sending a referral link.

  • Tap the button below to go to your referrals page. Share your unique link with hosts, directing them to your co-host profile.
  • Ask hosts to message you from your profile. Once they do, you’ll be able to connect and get started.
  • Follow up with hosts. Track their status in the requests tab of your dashboard.

You may be eligible to receive a referral reward after hosts complete their first qualifying stay. Find out which hosts are eligible on your referrals page.
