"Latijnse morfologie" bevat een volledige bespreking van de verbuigingen en vervoegingen van het klassieke Latijn. Ook talrijke relevante uitzonderingen en bijzonderheden die in vele schoolboeken onvermeld blijven, komen aan bod. Bijzondere aandacht wordt besteed aan de ontwikkelingen in het postklassieke Latijn.

La mia tesi di laurea triennale in Grammatica Latina raccoglieva ed analizzava gli incantesimi in lingua latina presenti nella serie web audiovisiva Netflix "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (2018-2020).
Preliminarmente, si è cercato di far luce sul particolare sistema di comunicazione in cui si inserisce la serie televisiva, adattamento della serie comics omonima; si è poi spaziato sul versante della magia antica, segnatamente nei punti di contatto con la webserie tv Netflix.
In seguito, la trattazione degli incantesimi latini si è divisa in un’analisi quantitativa, che consente di comprendere la frequenza e la distribuzione delle formule latine e il loro rapporto con quelle in inglese, e una qualitativa, che entra nel dettaglio di singole occorrenze significative.
Dalla prima si è evinto come gli incantesimi latini siano preferiti a quelli inglesi per due principali criteri: la genericità dell’incantesimo e la ‘potenza magica’ intrinseca al latino.
Una seconda valutazione più dettagliata delle frasi latine ha messo in luce come la forma di questi incantesimi sia spesso un pastiche di anglismi e usi del latino volgare, non disgiunti da prestiti di memoria poetica, come anche espressioni bibliche. A questi modelli tradizionali si accosta l'uso di strumenti odierni, di uso facile e immediato, fruibili sul web, come ebook di divulgazione d’incantesimi in latino o la stessa piattaforma Google Translate, che consente di tradurre approssimativamente da e in latino.
È possibile altresì ricondurre le deviazioni dal latino standard sia al genere della scrittura magica delle defixiones, caratterizzato da un’applicazione già in partenza distorta della morfologia e sintassi latina, sia a errori da lingua d’arrivo dell’inglese.
La ricerca è originale: non risultano altri studi sul latino di "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (né sulle sue caratteristiche formali, né sui suoi precedenti nella cultura magica antica).

The work called Notitia Hungariae novae historico-geographica performed by Hungarian polymath, teacher and evangelical priest Matthias Belius (1684 – 1749) to this day represents a lot of contemporary information that researchers try to interpret in the boundaries of various historical or related human disciplines. Bel was interested in theology, history, geography, philosophy, medicine, and folk customs and traditions. He spoke several languages, studied or worked in several Hungarian cities, and with his works and activities he contributed to the development of science, education, culture, language and literature. The work Notitia, in which the author mapped the individual counties and districts of Hungary, offers informations on selected towns and villages, watercourses, bridges, caves, mountains, forests, mineral wealth, agricultural crops, animals, customs and traditions of the population, military meetings or religious conditions. A similar structure was also connected with the Modrý Kameň district, where the author contained a description of 55 villages. We get a picture that the villages fell under the jurisdiction of the Esztergom archbishopric and chapter and the diocese of Vác. A rich number of local families is named here. From the field of the Hungarian-Ottoman clashes is included the Ottomans' attempt to conquer the bastion defended by the Hungarians in Bušince (1552), from the circle of anti-Habsburg uprisings is exceptional the battle, that took place between the armies of the emperor and Francis II Rákóczi at the locality of Romhány (1710). The complex picture is completed by mentions of grain cultivation, viticulture, fruit growing, hunting, logging, fishing, the present watercourses, bridges, mills or the occurance of Slovak population.

Named after the youngest of the Parcae, Clotho got its name after the deity responsible for spinning the thread of life; thus the journal seeks to create a new space of creativity, exploration, and learning in the field of classical studies. Wilamowitz famously defined classical scholarship “by its subject-matter – Graeco-Roman civilization in its essence and in every facet of its existence.” Following in those footsteps, Clotho welcomes exploring Greek and Latin language – lexicography, grammar, and the broader issues of linguistics. It seeks to investigate the traditional fields of classical studies, literature, textual criticism, rhetoric, philosophy, and history; as well as archaeology, numismatics, epigraphy, papyrology, and paleography. Above all, the journal is committed to the idea of interdisciplinarity. As such, it accepts antiquity-related contributions from the spheres of art, music, science, religion, and law; as well as the classical tradition and classical reception, history of classical scholarship, and last but foremost, translation.

During the Roman empire many Greek speakers learned Latin. Their books and exercises, which survive in medieval manuscripts and in papyri from Egypt, show that some of their language-learning techniques were similar to ours and others very different. Some students, interested only in oral proficiency, learned Latin using materials in Greek transliteration. Others learned the Roman alphabet and then read not isolated sentences but complete texts, in a special bilingual format, while learning grammar and syntax from materials composed entirely in Latin. At more advanced levels students used monolingual Latin literary texts, which they read aloud and translated into Greek ; they also translated Greek literature into Latin.

Las lenguas indoeuropeas son lenguas flexivas: esto significa que tienen declinaciones y conjugaciones. Los casos caracterizan la
flexión nominal en griego y en latín, de manera que declinando un nombre y, por tanto, cambiando sus terminaciones podemos
expresar diferentes funciones sintácticas. A la sintaxis casual se añade la sintaxis preposicional: las preposiciones completan las
nociones expresadas por los casos. En nuestro trabajo (que se dividirá en cuatro partes) estudiamos preposición por preposición,
comparando las dos lenguas para ayudar a los alumnos y profesores de secundaria en la enseñanza y aprendizaje del griego y el
latín.

Più che l’archetipo del ‘genere’ autobiografico, le Confessioni di Agostino sono un esempio straordinario di riflessione sul narrare, sul come e perché tanto la parola umana, quanto quella divina, entrino a far parte di un racconto. Per la prima volta, si mettono qui sistematicamente a confronto le categorie della narratologia con le considerazioni ‘teoriche’ e la prassi narrativa delle Confessioni stesse. A cinque capitoli, scanditi dai passi dell’opera di maggior interesse metanarrativo, fanno seguito tre appendici che privilegiano l’analisi linguistica: la prima nella forma di un commento al proemio programmatico del libro X; le altre due in quella di un ‘sondaggio’ lessicale sui temi del tempo e della conversione. Il volume è dunque un invito a studiare, finalmente, la letterarietà del capolavoro agostiniano.

This course aims to introduce the students to Classical Latin. Latin was the academic language in the Western world for centuries: philosophy, history, medicine, etc. were all written in Latin. Since this is the case, even though the course will focus on Classical Latin, we will nonetheless
also touch upon its medieval and modern versions. In this way, students will be able to read and understand a wider variety of texts from different eras and fields.
Besides, learning Latin is not only useful to understand texts from different epochs, but also to provide the students with a better understanding of the different Romance languages. Furthermore, Latin is a great tool for them to improve their English as well: around a sixty
percent of English words derive from Latin. This number rises to a ninety percent in the vocabulary of the sciences and technology. As a result, students from many different areas can benefit from learning Latin.
We will start with the pronunciation of Latin and simple sentences with the verb “to be” (sum) and the nominative case. From there, we will slowly introduce the students to other particularities of the Latin language. The main objective of this course is to provide the students
with the ability to understand Latin in order to make of them independent readers as far as it is possible.

This paper aims at describing the characteristics of the present participle structures depending on perception verbs in Latin. The functional development and the diffusion of these structures will be investigated in a corpus of Latin texts ranging from the times of Plautus to the tenth century. An overview of the characteristics of these constructions in medieval Italian, French, and Castilian will also be provided. Given the particular nature of the evolution of present participles in the transition between Latin and the Romance languages, in the sections of the paper devoted to the analysis of Italian, French, and Castilian, concurrent gerundival constructions will be taken into account as well. Within this framework, the relationship between the cultural, linguistic and stylistic reference models of the investigated texts proved to be of crucial importance for the analysis of the diffusion of present participle structures.

L'obiettivo principale di questo contributo è quello di proporre una descrizione dell’evoluzione dell'uso delle strutture con participio presente dipendenti da verbi di percezione in latino, seguendo un arco diacronico che va da Plauto fino al medioevo centrale. Sarà inoltre presentato un quadro generale delle caratteristiche assunte da queste costruzioni (e, date le peculiarità dell’evoluzione del participio presente nel passaggio dal latino alle lingue romanze, da quelle gerundivali loro concorrenti) in italiano, in castigliano e in francese medievali. In particolar modo, nell’analisi della diffusione delle strutture indagate, sono stati tenuti in conto aspetti come la tipologia testuale e il rapporto con i modelli culturali, linguistici e stilistici di riferimento, che sono risultati essere cruciali.

In the course of 1580, Agostino Valier, a bishop of Verona, conducted an apostolic visitation to Istrian dioceses. The report on the visitation represents an historic source of great importance for the knowledge of late 16th century Istrian history. This paper brings to light information about Pula and its inhabitants  contained in the report on Bishop Valier’s visitation to the Pula Diocese. Descriptions include the very visit and other social, economic and religious circumstance in Pula of the period.

Una serie di incontri, rivolti agli studenti della prima classe di un Liceo Linguistico di Viareggio, finalizzati a reinventare la didattica del latino grazie all’ausilio della gamification - spesso in BYOD -, del cooperative learning e della peer assessment. Dalla scoperta dell’augmented reality alla possibilità di esercitarsi in blended learning, dallo studio delle declinazioni in modalità flipped classroom ai modellini del Colosseo stampati in 3D, l’intento è stato quello di sviluppare nuovi processi cognitivi e nuove competenze capaci di coniugare cultura umanistica e cultura tecnologica. Nell’ottica di un sapere “multicanale e orizzontale”, questa sperimentazione ha consentito una progressiva riflessione sul metodo e un costante aggiustamento del percorso, dimostrando che la didattica di materie apparentemente “morte” come il latino può e deve reinventarsi per adeguarsi agli standard sociali e comunicativi del XXI secolo.
