Starting from Pascal's and Bourdieu's positions on the subject of habit, in this paper we will present a synoptic analysis of excerpts from the writings of Evagrius Ponticus and from the Bhagavadgītā, with the aim of illustrating the advantages that can be drawn when the problem of habitus is understood jointly with the development of the biopolitical work carried out by the agencies of naturalization of habit.

In un passo della epist. 3 Fausto di Riez parla degli angeli come creature corporee riecheggiando evidentemente un luogo virgiliano (georg. 3, 108-109). L'allusione in direzione di Virgilio, che è coerente con la formazione dell'autore, è interessante anche per il contesto immediato: qui si trova infatti anche un'allusione alla Genesi 28,12, che va senz'altro valutata come un fattore di "riequilibrio" della memoria letteraria dell'autore stesso.

The periphrasis “sthā- + present participle” was described by Berthold Delbruck in his Altindische Syntax [1888]. Such a construction would indicate the persistency in the action and the verb ‘stay’ would play the role of an auxiliary form. The present paper analyses a group of brāhmanic passages in order to confirm the scholar’s hypothesis (which was based on two sole examples) and enlarge the corpus known so far: in fact, brāhmanic prose shows texts which are less ambiguous and more perspicuous than poetry.
