After Aršāma: Persian echoes in early Ptolemaic Egypt2020 •
A consideration of the influence of the Persian period of Egypt on later developments under the Ptolemies. There were significant common features in these successive regimes. As incomers both faced similar problems. In many respects, their reactions were similar. Both ruled for approximately three hundred years. But there were also differences. Of which the most important was that, whereas the Persians controlled Egypt as a colonial power, for the Ptolemies Egypt was home. Probably as a result, the effects of Ptolemaic rule went deeper. The longest lasting change was in the adoption of Greek as the language of the administration until the Arab conquest.

There are similarities between Bernard Williams and Cora Diamond as moral philosophers: both their moral philosophies are marked by an engagement with the question of what it is like to be a human being, and both are engaged with experience more than theory. Still, such similarities rest on very different philosophical grounds. In this article, I consider whether a Nietzschean (Williams) and a Wittgensteinian (Diamond) could ever converge on a characterization of the ‘moral point of view’ as this involves views on life, thought, and language. I argue that divergences between Williams and Diamond persist, a very important one concerning relativism: whereas Diamond adumbrates a Wittgensteinian way out of relativism, it remains a last word for Williams.

Today Mother India is in tears to see its greatest heritage " Sanskrit " sinking into oblivion as only 14135 people have been found to be associated with Sanskrit as their native language. Hence, the objective of this study is to explore all the major affective factors that attributed to the decay of Sanskrit and putting this most revered language in deplorable condition and doleful state. In attaining the stated objective, the study employed unstructured interview (with 15 Sanskrit scholars) and content analysis as two primary data gathering tools. As for data analysis, the study used descriptive statistics and analytic induction. The study revealed 12 affective factors that caused degeneration of Sanskrit. Five of them are worth mentioning here. (i) Subjugation of Indian Philosophy, (ii) Lack of Career Prospect (iii) Confinement of Sanskrit to Brahmins, (iv) Political Bias, and (v) Spreading Myths about Complexity of Sanskrit.
In this paper, we aim at examining precisely what some of the Romanian journalists, from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, were writing about cursing, as it was understood at that moment, and about those men prone to cursing. In order to conduct this research, many press articles have been read, most of them published in journals such as România liberă, Gazeta Transilvaniei, Adevărul, Țara noastră, Unirea poporului etc.
