Materials development and evaluations has been always intertwined with the major changes and trends in language learning and teaching. Therefore, the pivotal role of materials within the main issues of language learning should not be neglected. Thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Education and the contributions of university professors, the first book of the new series of course books for learning English at Iranian high schools entitled Prospect 1 was published. The book has been used for about a year and was the main talk of many Iranian teachers using them in their classes who carried out evaluations of the content of the book. The media have also covered the evaluation of the book by interviewing high school English language teachers. However, most of the efforts on the evaluation of the book seemed untheoretical and lacked sound frameworks and criteria for evaluation. The First Regional Conference on New Language Course Books, Prospect aims to gather the researchers, teachers, and university professors to air their voices regarding the evaluation of the book based on academically sound rationales. It was a great honor to receive more than 100 abstracts concerning the theme of the conference, which indicates how significant the topic is for the academic society of Iran. I hope that this conference and the presentations of the scholars can provide the academic society with a comprehensive insight into the evaluation of the book which can pave the way for a proper evaluation of the next books of this series. Major Findings: Students come to the librarian for many reasons & many problems; with this experiment they are happy that at least they could climb a step ahead to improve their fluency in English language. This Study definitely proves that if all Undergraduate Institutes take up the initiative for starting the ‘English Improvement Book Club’ for their students, the students will be highly benefited. Conclusion : Academic Librarian can help the students through this new activity & develop their English by undertaking the responsibility of the ‘English Improvement Book Club’.
