Le straordinarie analisi sulla «coscienza infelice» di Hegel rappresentano un felice superamento della staticità del sistema del giovane Schelling: qui non c’è più l’illusione di raggiungere la libertà rapportandosi direttamente all’«Assoluto» con l’intuizione intellettuale, ma lo sdoppiamento della coscienza umana di fronte all’infinito, e quindi la scissione irrisolvibile fra la mutevolezza e caducità della propria condizione finita e la speranza, irrealizzabile e senza compimento, di unirsi al trascendente. Scissione drammatica che porta appunto a configurare la coscienza umana in termini d’infelicità. A ben guardare, la «coscienza infelice» rappresenta l’inevitabile punto di partenza, al pari dell’inquietas cordis di Agostino, per ogni analisi sulla condizione umana. Ma una volta arrivati all’autocoscienza, che cosa rappresenta tale desiderio d’infinito per la coscienza finita o mutevole? Come si sviluppa la «fenomenologia del desiderio»? Per passare dall’autocoscienza alla singolarità, è veramente consigliabile l’estensione dello sguardo oltre le pagine della Fenomenologia dello spirito, fino a prendere in considerazione anche la risposta di Schelling alla famosa metafora del «colpo di pistola». Metafora micidiale, che ammutolì Schelling per anni. Schelling infatti arriva a un risultato solo rinunciando al concetto di «intuizione intellettuale» e sostituendolo con quello di «estasi». L’estasi, al contrario dell’intuizione intellettuale, non si sviluppa con la rapidità e la facilità di un colpo di pistola, ma segue piuttosto un percorso tormentato simile a quello della «coscienza infelice», e nei fatti ne è l’inevitabile esito: tale infelicità, tale insoddisfazione spinge l’umano a prendere le distanze da se stesso, a esistere trascendendosi.

The topic of Hegel’s influence on Dostoevskij’s work is debated, and its conclusion uncertain. This text does not aim to solve it and come to a definitive solution. Its purpose is to briefly present the various points of view on the subject. It can be affirmed that, if there was influence, it is a background influence, essentially indirect and mediated. But the possibility of a parallel relationship between the two authors seems to emerge. Both start from a common core: reason, its powers, its limits, its extreme consequences. But, from this conceptual node, their paths diverge both in style and area of relevance (which is obvious: Hegel is a philosopher, Dostoevskij a novelist), in development and conclusions. The purpose of this paper is to pursue a parallel confrontation following the themes of the relationship between idealism and nihilism and the autonomy and hypostatization of reason and the ego.

The article analyses the young Hegel’s critique of the Kantian ought (“Sollen”). In the first part, the article discusses the opposition between law and positivity in works from Hegel’s Berne and Frankfurt periods (1795-1797). Law as commandment (Gebote) is attacked as being irreconcilable with the freedom of reason. In the second part, the article analyses the parallels between the “concept of law” and the “law of concept” in Hegel’s inquiries into Kant’s Practical Reason. At the end, the article proposes to view the problem of Sollen in the young Hegel as an attempt to create a new concept of law.
The aim of this essay is to examine the Hegelian notion of shame, as a case study to show the fundamental role that this feeling, traditionally conceived as a “negative emotion”, actually plays in the life of the human subject. I will reconstruct Hegel’s conception of shame, starting from some paragraphs of the Philosophy of Subjective Spirit (§§ 401, 472), where shame is described as a form of anger towards one’s self, which is perceived as inadequate. Eventually, I will examine some passages of the Encyclopaedia Logic (§ 24) and the Aes- thetics in which Hegel points out how the first man, having become conscious of his own spiritual nature, becomes both aware and ashamed of his nudity. On this basis I will illustrate why for Hegel shame is the constitutive place of self-consciousness. Contextually, I will argue that Hegel’s understanding of shame reveals a certain proximity to the latest psychological studies that emphasize the importance of this “self-conscious emotion” in the formation of subjectivity and underline its relevance with regard to the subject’s evaluative knowledge and moral reasoning.

Starting from an indication by Deleuze, according to which even transcendental philosophy would not arrive to an adequate concept of immanence, the paper tests this assumption by studying the way in which, in the history of idealism, thought was understood as "transcendent" with respect to individual thinking selves. This feature emerges with particular clarity in the path that goes from Hegel to the founder of British Idealism Thomas Hill Green-whose theory of eternal consciousness was criticized by another idealist philosopher, Andrew Seth Pringle-Pattison, as a modern form of Averroism.
