All the work we undertake on behalf of our members, their patients, and the public is guided by a clear vision of being recognized as the leading authority for the highest quality and compassionate dermatologic care, and our mission of advancing excellence in dermatology.
With over 200 employees, we support the largest, most influential dermatology group in the United States. With a membership of more than 20,500, the AAD represents virtually all practicing dermatologists in the United States, as well as a growing number of international dermatologists. The AAD is committed to: advancing the diagnosis and medical, surgical, and cosmetic treatment of the skin, hair, and nails; advocating high standards in clinical practice, education, and research in dermatology; and supporting and enhancing patient care for a lifetime of healthier skin, hair, and nails.
The American Academy of Dermatology Association is the sister organization to the AAD and is the resource for government affairs as well as health policy and practice information for dermatologists. It plays a major role in formulating policies that can enhance the quality of dermatologic care.
