    Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds for South Coastal, South East Coastal, Great Southern and parts of Goldfields, South West and Central Wheat Belt districts. Issued at 4:27 am Thursday, 3 October 2024. Damaging winds continue to impact the South West Land Division during Thursday. Weather Situation A deep low pressure system with an associated trough located to the south of the State, will continue to track eastwards towards the southeast of the state during today. DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas: Goldfields, South West, South Coastal, South East Coastal, Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt Possible DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are likely along the coastal fringe. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible further inland over the remaining warning area until early afternoon. This system is expected to be windier than typical and unusual for this time of year. A separate Coastal Hazard Warning for DAMAGING SURF conditions is also current.
