With three gameweeks in the books, the 2024/25 Premier League season is well underway and shaping up to be yet another classic campaign.
In the early weeks of the season we've already witnessed some of the very best players in the Premier League put in outstanding performances, but who will be able to keep up that form for the next eight months?

Below is our predictions for the Premier League team of the season for 2024/25.

GK: Alisson Becker
The best goalkeeper in the Premier League, and the best goalkeeper in the whole wide world.
And if you need some stats to back that exclamation up: Alisson has yet to concede a goal during the 2024/25 Premier League season heading into the September international break.
It doesn't get much better than that.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold
With Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier's powers fading, there really is only one standout candidate for the 'best right-back in the Premier League' tag, and that's Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Be it as a normal or an inverted full-back, Alexander-Arnold has proven himself to be a huge asset to Liverpool throughout the last number of seasons, and we're expecting that to continue in what could be his final season at Anfield.
CB: Virgil van Dijk
Don't worry, this isn't just a Liverpool 1-11 we're creating here.
Virgil van Dijk is the third of four Liverpool players who has made this team (spoiler), and deservedly so.
The Liverpool captain has been in top form so far in 2024/25, leading the backline to three clean sheets on the spin and almost single-handedly pocketing the entire Man Utd attack prior to the international break.
CB: William Saliba
Our pick for the best defender in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season, and if you've watched Arsenal over the last two years, you'll know exactly why.
William Saliba has been a transformative figure at the Emirates Stadium.
LB: Nathan Ake
To be honest, like at right-back, there weren't a whole lot of top class options to pick from here.
In the end, despite Josko Gvardiol currently starting for Man City, we've gone for Nathan Ake in this role.
The former Bournemouth man is one of the most malleable and dependable footballers in the Premier League.
CM: Martin Odegaard
Club captain and creator-in-chief, it's fair to say that a lot of Arsenal's title hopes rest on the shoulders of Martin Odegaard.
Luckily for the Gunners, he's good enough to shoulder that burden.
The Norway international has been exceptional in recent seasons at the Emirates Stadium and will only get better now that he has Declan Rice and Mikel Merino by his side in midfield.
CM: Rodri
At both club and international level, Rodri has been the catalyst for winning for the last number of years.
Don't expect that to change in 2024/25.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne
When fit, there probably isn't a better midfielder in the world than Kevin De Bruyne.
And worryingly for the rest of the Premier League, De Bruyne has started the 2024/25 season in the best shape he's been in a long time.
Expect him to bag 20+ assists once again this season.
RW: Mohamed Salah
Honestly, we weren't too sure which Mohamed Salah would show up at the start of the season.
Would it be the world class one we've watched become a Premier League great?
Or would it be the one who went completely off the boil in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign?
Thankfully for Liverpool fans, the former has showed up and the Egyptian superstar looks back to his very, very best.
ST: Erling Haaland
Yes, of course the striker who has scored 70 Premier League goals in 69 appearances is the man we've chosen to play up front in this team.
He's the best goalscorer in the world by a considerable distance.
LW: Bukayo Saka
Arsenal's 'Starboy' was the 90min editorial team's pick to be the best player in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season.
And considering his consistency, availability, and stats over the last few seasons and the fact that he's playing for a genuine Premier League title contender, it's easy to see why.
He's a top, top player.
