The best rated players in EA FC 25

EA FC 25 drops in September, giving football fans worldwide the chance to play as their favourite stars in a variety of different game modes.

Whether it be Ultimate Team or Career Mode, gamers will be spoilt for choice with EA Sports' latest iteration of the long-running series, though this is only its second edition away from FIFA's branding.

While discourse in the past revolved around who would have the higher rating between multiple Ballon d'Or winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, this year there are different ballers topping the charts.

Here are the highest rated players in EA FC 25.

Highest rated men's players in EA FC 25

EA have confirmed ratings for the strongest performers in the game and there are only three men's players rated 91 overall. They are Real Madrid summer signing Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Rodri. No surprises there.

Just below the best of the best, there are four players that are 90-rated. Real Madrid pair and Ballon d'Or contenders Jude Bellingham and Vincius Junior are one overall off their new teammate Mbappe, with Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane also reaching the 90s.

The rest of the top 20 men's players are not as Real Madrid and Man City-centric, although Thibaut Courtois (89), Phil Foden (88) and Ruben Dias (88) do sneak in.

Liverpool have a trio of 89-rated players - Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Alisson - while Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Robert Lewandowski come in at 89 and 88 overall respectively.

Of course, there is still a place for Inter Miami's eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi in the top 20, with the diminutive magician 88-rated. He's not the highest rated Argentine in the game though, with his international teammate Lautaro Martinez rated 89 overall thanks to a fantastic 2023/24.

Highest rated women's players in EA FC 25

In the women's game, there was only ever going to be one player to top the ratings. As expected, 2023 Ballon d'Or winner and Barcelona ace Aitana Bonmati is 91-rated - making her the joint-best player in the game.

Her Barca teammates Caroline Graham Hansen and Alexia Putellas are just one overall worse in EA FC 25, while Chelsea striker Sam Kerr has been given the same 90 overall rating despite an injury-hit 2023/24 campaign.

Last season's Champions League finalists Barcelona and Lyon boast ten of the top 20 highest rated players. Former Ballon d'Or victor Ada Hegerberg leads the way for the French outfit with an 89 rating, which is shared by La Blaugrana defender Maria Leon.

Two other Women's Super League stars join Kerr in the top 20. One is the Australian's Chelsea teammate Guro Reiten, who is rated 88 overall, and the other is Arsenal and England superstar Beth Mead with an 88 overall rating as well.

Highest rated icons in EA FC 25

Ultimate Team supporters know just how influential EA FC's icons can be to success, with many fan favourites returning for this year's game.

One of those is Brazil legend Pele, who is the game's highest rated card with a 95 overall rating. He's closely followed by compatriot Ronaldo and French superstar Zinedine Zidane with 94-rated cards in EA FC 25.

The likes of Johan Cruyff (93), Ronaldinho (93) and Bobby Charlton (92) also feature in the top ten, with the only goalkeeper to win the Ballon d'Or, Lev Yashin, featuring with a 92 overall rating, too.

In terms of female legends, it's the United States' iconic Mia Hamm who is most appreciated by EA. She's been given a 93-rated card and is closely followed by former Germany goalkeeper Nadine Angerer with a 92 overall rating.
