Driver hits, kills man on Nassau St.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A 42-year-old man died after being hit by a car on Nassau Street following an altercation on the evening of July 6.
According to a Charlottesville Police Department news release, Edward Fitzhugh Anderson was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the news release, Anderson tried to attack a woman sitting in a parked car. What motivated the alleged attack is unclear and the two do not appear to have known each other.
The woman tried to drive away from the confrontation, but struck Anderson, killing him, according to the news release.
Police continue to investigate and there are currently no charges pending, according to the news release.
