Record heat continues; more expected next week

Temps stay in the 110 range Thursday and Friday, with monsoon moisture this weekend, then another round of 110s next Wednesday.

PHOENIX — Strong high pressure over the region will continue to bring extreme heat through Friday with some modest relief starting this weekend.

Afternoon high temperatures today and Friday will exceed 110 degrees for most lower desert locations with today seeing the hottest readings.

A slight bump in moisture for Friday and Saturday may bring some widely isolated showers and maybe a few storms over higher terrain areas before conditions dry out once
again starting Sunday.
