Howard County police have identified a person they believe is connected to the shooting death of a 17-year-old at The Mall of Columbia back in late July, according to police.

The alleged suspect, identified as 17-year-old William Marshall III, allegedly shot Angelo Little, before running away.

Officials said Little was shot in the back after walking towards a Columbia Mall bathroom at around 6:10 p.m., later being pronounced dead on the scene.

Marshall and Little likely knew each other, but police said a motive for the killing hasn't been determined.

Per Maryland law, suspects under 18 years old are typically not identified, even when a child is charged as an adult. However, officials said the search for Marshall constitutes an exception "for the sole purposes of facilitating achild and ensuring public safety" when an arrest warrant is issued.

Marshall is reportedly a student at Oakland Mills High School, but has not attended school this year, and has likely left the immediate area.

A $10,000 reward is available for information leading to his arrest, anyone with information is asked to contact Howard County police at 410-313-STOP or email[email protected]. Tips can be made anonymously.
