The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) is considered to be Ireland's leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art. This is where contemporary life and contemporary art are connected, challenged and where they inspire one another. It is situated in the elegant 17th century Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Opened in 1991, IMMA's collection contains some 4,500 artworks from the 1940's onwards. IMMA hosts regular exhibitions which bring several Irish and International artists together.
