Idaho Division of Veterans Services Policies and Agency Guidance Documents in accordance with Governor Little’s Executive Order 2020-02 Transparency in Agency Guidance Documents.
EO 2020-02 Transparency in Agency Guidance Documents
Agency written guidance documents are defined as any manual, handbook, policy, procedure, directive, letter, memo, etc. that IDVS and its individual Bureaus rely on to help us interpret Rules & Statutes or guide decisions we make that can impact the public. These documents are related to public policy only and are not our internal operating procedures (e.g. process for travel reimbursements). These are broken down by Bureau below.
IDVS Suicide Prevention Policy
The Division of Veterans Services is committed to promoting the health and safety of its residents, clients, employees, and any other person in the workplace. Consequently, this suicide prevention and reporting policy is intended to raise awareness and provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers in carrying out an appropriate response to suicidal behavior in the workplace.

Office of Veterans Advocacy
The Office of Veterans Advocacy and the actions of Veterans Service Officers are in accordance with the US Code of Federal Regulations Title 38 Pensions, Bonuses, and Veterans’ Relief, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Benefits Administration Compensation & Pension Manual.
Idaho State Veterans Cemeteries
The Idaho State Veterans Cemeteries operate in accordance with the following:

Veterans Shrine Commitment:
The State Veterans Cemeteries in the State of Idaho are maintained according to VA Shrine Standards. Idaho State Veterans Cemetery Funding:

Interment fees for eligible spouses or dependents will be equal to the current benefit provided for eligible veterans, as specified in IDAPA 21.01.04 https://adminrules.idaho.gov/rules/current/21/210104.pdf
Veterans Cemetery Maintenance Fund, Idaho Statute, 65-107. Revenues derived from the program fees for special Veterans motor vehicle license plates as provided in section 49-418. Committal Services:
Viewing facilities are not available and funeral services cannot be held at VA national cemeteries, but a final committal service may be performed. For safety reasons, these services are held in committal shelters located away from the gravesite. Committal services are generally 20 minutes in length which includes the time needed for rendering of military honors.
