Vintage Tole Tray, Round, 12" Black W/Muted Fruit & Floral Design, Old, Shabby
This is a pretty 12" tole tray. Black with a muted gold and burnt orange fruit and floral design. I am only guessing its age based on other items at the estate sale at which this was found: sometime between 1920 and 1940, it may be earlier. It has been used a lot or poorly stored, or a combination of the two. There are a couple of obvious large scratches on the front and several smaller ones. There is quite a bit of paint loss around the rim. Some where red paint shows through which I first thought was part of the design. The back is more severely scratched. There are no dings or dents. I have done NO cleaning of this piece as I normally do. This is an estate piece in shabby condition being sold as found. As is. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to odors: smoking, fragrance, cooking, mustiness, mothballs, other types of ... morestorage odors or pets. To avoid the expense of shipping. Rich patina distinguishes this older v intage italian florentine tole round tray with a gold gilded finish on embossed design. Accented with light bluem pinkish white, plus dark blue and red dots. Raised sloped scalloped rim and a repeating central medallion design, very classic and beautiful. This tray measures 10 1/2" in diameter.Even the bottom is embossed and gold gilded. It is used but in very good condition with some minor wear consistent with age and use. Bottom shows the most scuffing, rim also shows some wear. A gorgeous piece. Bid today!
