Sandler became a household name with such beloved ’90s comedies as “Billy Madison,” “Happy Gilmore,” “The Waterboy” and “Big Daddy.” But in recent years, he’s impressed with more serious turns, including Noah Baumbach’s “The Meyerowitz Stories,” the Safdie brothers’ “Uncut Gems” and, in 2022, the Netflix basketball film “Hustle,” for which he received critical acclaim and the top slot for movie views on the service for over a week.
