Emilia Nilsson Garip secured a spot in the 3m springboard semifinals at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday morning, thanks to a point total of 295.20 that earned her a 10th-place finish.
Nilsson Garip posted strong showings all the way through during her first day of competition at the XXXIII Olympiad, rising as high as fourth-place during the competition before settling into 10th, easily within the top 18 to lock down her spot in Thursday semis.
The next step for the two-time 2024 Pac-12 Champion will be to compete in the 3m springboard semifinals, which are set to take place on Thursday at 2 a.m. MT. The top 12 competitors in that round will earn a place in the final on Friday, scheduled to get underway at 7 a.m. MT.
